“Culinary Delights.”
Reviewed 19 June 2013 via mobile

Chef Carles is a real enthusiast who, unlike many Tenerife chefs , changes his menu seasonally.
The current menu offers exciting options ranging from a wide range of Tapas to perfectly cooked main dishes featuring chicken, beef, pork, rabbit and a wide variety of fresh fish.
The turbot meunière is the most expensive dish on the menu at 17.5 euros but is well worth the price....a large fillet comes immaculately cooked and served with potato cake and lemon butter sauce.
The interior is stylish and there are a few outside tables where you can watch the world go by.
Service is very pleasant , the wine list is carefully chosen ( including a few good French bottles) and Kafka is, in my view, one of the best places to dine in Puerto de la Cruz.
Highly recommended and one of our regular haunts during our quarterly visits to Hotel Botanico.

“Guests not wanted?”
Reviewed 12 April 2013

We visited Kafka for an evening meal. Most of the tables both outside and inside were free. We waited for about 5 minutes before a lady turned up and we got a table. Then nothing happend for 20 minutes, we saw no waiters and no menu. It's not diffucult to get a nice meal and good service i Puerto de la Cruz, so we just left the restaurant. On our way out, the same lady turned up again and asked us why we left. We tried to explain that we felt somewhat invisible and unwanted, but she did not seem to understand. We like to try new restaurants, and if it still exsists, we will give Kafka a new try on our next visit to Puerto de la Cruz.

“Great restaurant”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

We ate here on our first night in Tenerife. Kafka is located in a super little street lined with three or four restaurants all with several tables outside as well as inside.
We had a selection of 5 tapas all of which were inventive, freshly cooked and delicious. The approach seems to be traditional with a modern take which is always a good combination (if done properly!) We also had a carafe of delicious local Rosada wine which matched the food very well.
We kept coming back to this area throughout the week and I do feel the restaurants here are among the best in Puerto de la Cruz.

good decor, good attendance and quiet environment. High quality cuisine. The only downside was the delay in serving dishes. recommend
