If you are looking for a holiday with sun, sea, plenty of booze and a standard meal every night, you really can't go wrong with this place.

We booked a 7 night stay with the hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. we were a group of 4 friends aged 18-20 and we had a great time.

the receptionist was friendly on arrival and extremely helpful, the rooms very decent for the price and fully equipped with everything you needed. The al inclusive situation was pretty good all in all. the bar offered a wide variety of drinks and spirits and they were far from small measures, including shots if requested. the bar staff were also very friendly and we were on first name terms after the first night. Alcohol was available all day from either the pool side bar, restaurants or the lobby bar (which was only open in the evening)

The food wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't awful. we found something to eat every night and never went away hungry. breakfast (although we hardly got up for it) was pretty good and everything was as you would get it at an all you can eat in England. Although repetitive, the food was enjoyable

The area doesn't have a booming night life, but there is a large amount of bars and restaurants near by, including a short two minute walk to the promenade where there is a huge stretch of local restaurants and bars. although there are no big night clubs, we found some lively venues where you could drink, dance and relax every night. Also extremely cheap for booze on nights out such as beer for as little as a euro.

In terms of the weather it was hot however quite cloudy due to the location of being in the north, but still as we say it was hot and enjoyable.

So if you are looking for a holiday in the sun with a cheap budget we would recommend this hotel and area

Well where do you begin with this hotel! Myself and my wife made a huge huge mistake in booking this hotel for our wedding anniversary its safe to say we wont ever forget it as its possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.the service from the staff was very very poor and im being polite there! When we booked all inclusive it should have said self service! We spent the first morning searching for staff to open the "all inclusive bar" what a joke and not to mention the food being cold when just being served too this became an all to familiar accurance to the whole week it seemed that the only staff that were on duty were trying to cover the poolside bar as well as the restaurant and the main bar a task only a magician could undertake!!! So we ended up spending more money on days and nights away from faulty towers oh sorry palmeras playa! So please please avoid this hotel at ALL COST!!!

Our second trip to Tennerife we booked online for All Inclusive , What a joke a total waste of money and probably the worst service I have had in any hotel ,
sign says Bar open 10 am 11pm , was closed until 11.30 am , closed 12.30. open at 2.30, closed at 7pm until 9pm . when open had to wait 20 mins for service ,
complained to reception his reply how long you been here ,
food average , no snacks just buffet 3 daily.
on a positive note hotel was well situated and rooms cleaned daily.
NOT RECOMENDED,

Room Tip: STAY ELSEWHERE self catering. apartment room was good

Having travelled extensively in various countries,I have to agree with other reviews ,that this is one really bad hotel, you cannot blame the staff, they have to work behind the bar ,then leave you to go and work in the dining room, leaving you at the bar.The only man to blame for this disaster of a hotel is the manager.
When we arrived it was around 12.30am,no food for anyone arriving from a late flight,we were told our room number, then had to ask for directions to the room, the outside corridor was not lit and left very dark, the room had a terrible stench,we tried putting bleach down the sinks etc,but eventually had to ask for a change of room, which was given without any problem, however from our balcony you looked onto a building site, the patio door had tissue paper down the seals,to stop the wind or stop the doors rattling, the dining was an experience ,reminded me of the movie (The 300) tonight we dine in hell,as the previous reviewer states everything was recycled from breakfast to lunch then to dinner, rabbit and sardines being the main choice on most occasions, food was lukewarm although there was a microwave in the dining room you could use,to reheat your meal and coffee.there appeared no snacks for all inclusive and the supposed entertainment was dire to say the least, the poolside bar was a small portacabin, which was seldom open.there are some really nice hotels in this town ,I would suggest fellow travellers to seriously consider one of these alternatives.
Good points, are the location ,the town itself, which is really nice and plenty choice for eating or having a night out, also it's not always about the holiday itself ,it's about the people you meet, and it was a pleasure to spend an evening with a very nice couple from Blackpool, who endured the same experiences at the palmeras playa ,as ourselves.
Please heed the advice if you wish to have an all round pleasant holiday.

As I sit in the dark, grey and unwelcoming lobby of this 'hotel' on our last night, I feel it is my duty to share our experience with the world of travellers out there and to warn them about this place... Let me start by saying that the world 'elegance' in the name if this hotel is most ironic as there is nothing remotely elegant about this hotel... Quite the opposite in fact! I fear the worst as soon as we arrive. The reception looked so dark and glum, the furniture dated and just very depressing... On entering our room on the 3rd floor things just got worst: 2 single beds shoved together when our booking was for a double room, crappy beddings NHS hospital-style with yellow-stained pillows and the bathroom had rust all over the bath tub... Just not the kind of place to promote some much needed and anticipated relaxation. The hotel receptionist was rather helpful when I voiced my disappointment and asked for an alternative room. We were handed a key-card which gave us hope for a better room as the original room had an old style key... We were wrong, basically same room, still no double bed but with the added benefit of hair on the mattress and vertigo on the balcony as this was on the 9th floor! Great! Totally defeated we decided to stay with the original room and make the best of our holiday AWAY from this depressing ambience! After all we came for the carnival in Santa Cruz and hadn't planned on spending a lot of time at the hotel. Furthermore, we consciously booked a 3 star and therefore did not expect luxury and glamour...But this was something else.. I didn't have any great expectations for dinner either having read the reviews and comments on the food but seriously... Nothing could of prepared me for this! The 'restaurant' was more what you would imagine a prison canteen to resemble, dark and cold with a few trays of dodgy looking salads, some concussion of rabbit meat and fatty ribs just thrown there... Vegetable so over cooked and soggy it was unidentifiable... When I asked the only waiter in sight(for the entire week) for some fresh bread, he told me I had to wait till the morning for that! It soon became apparent that all the food was recycled, crappy hotdogs used as replacement for sausages at breakfast then found their ways in the rice at dinner and the poor rabbit was present at every meal in some form or other...I think the chef could actually win a competition in food recycling! That was the last time we ate in the place... Thank god puerto de la Cruz is packed with lovely restaurants/bars providing very good food at affordable prices! We laughed so much when we read some of the previous reviews for this hotel, describing it as 'faulty towers' meet the Adams Family meet 'carry on' film... That guy could not have been more accurate and fool me for ignoring the warnings of those who rightly described the place for what it is! I just thought they were fussy exagerators! Oh no! Some of the guest, several of whom appeared to be living in the apartments at palmeras were also a reflection of this sad establishment: a man on our floor openly spat on the landing on his way to dinner, whilst some sad looking woman we encountered in the lift with a plastic bag over her hand appeared to be mentally fragile... The 'inmates' as a previous reviewer likes to call them provided some unconventional entertainment! That's for sure! And thank god for that because the hotel 'entertainment' is that shocking it's an insult to the over 60's let alone a young couple!
Last night we met a delightful couple from Fife in a local bar, they also had the misfortune of experiencing the 'elegance' at the palmeras and they shared our views entirely... Again we laughed so much! Fortunately for us we get 'released' tomorrow, they still have another week of indulgence... Don't do it guys! You've been warned...the only positive about this place is the location!

We booked this as a last minute holiday and found the all inclusive deal to be Good Value for money at this 3 star hotel. Centrally located right near the front and close to Lago Martianez
for the excellent pools and facilities. Lots of restaurants and bars in easy flat walking distance
as well as shops. Choice of menu with lots of salads and meat and fish dishes, so you can find something different each meal although keeping the food hot appears to be a problem. Lovely side room with sea view in one direction and views of Teide to the other. The pool area was pleasant and we used the pool bar at lunch time. There were basic cooking facilities and equipment in yr room if you wanted to self cater. Mainly German and Finnish guests with the occasional British couple.

Thanks to the male receptionist for being very helpful with our transfer back to the airport speaking to them in Spanish when i got stuck.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have good views and the lifts work well!

In this hotel you get very good value for your money. Good price and excellent location near to Lago Martianez and everything. Simple rooms, good service, breakfast ok, pools ok. Everything a bit worn out but clean. Don't expect too much - that you'll get in the neighbour and you'll also pay 3-4 times more. Really GOOD SAUNA almost according to Finnish standards:) We'll soon spend the 6. family vacation in this lovely town enjoying Puerto Christmas! Muchos gracias Palmeras Playa!
