Having taken a last minute booking in April, we were not sure what the holiday would have in store for two pensioners aged 75. To our surprise, this Hotel catered very well for our age group with helpful staff ensuring we enjoyed our stay. Also, I wish to congratulate the Thomson Representatives for their help at both Edinburgh and Tenerife Airports for their assistance to our needs. Well Done Thomsons!!!!

Room Tip: Rooms facing sun lounge/pool area were quieter, however double balcony doors kept out any noise.

We were welcomed by a very pleasant receptionist, arrived to find no choice for dinner so had some cold chips! Breakfast was ok but nothing was hot. Found the staff a bit grumpy, except a lovely barman . Outside area was lovely and very well kept , most relaxing place to unwind. Very disappointed in meals ! Although rooms were cleaned every day the toilet needed a proper clean. Bed was uncomfortable . Although the balcony was sloping towards the ground the view was excellent across to Mt Teide.

This was our 2nd week after a first week at sea on a cruise aboard Thomson Celebration. All in all a good hotel. After the brilliant service with a smile aboard the ship we found the staff here a bit abrupt, especially the life guard around the pool, I would even say rude! Mari in the restaurant was lovely.
The rooms are a bit tired looking & could do with a good scrub! Was great to have a bath though. The view from our balcony was amazing! But as I say, we are not late night people so if you want to get to sleep at a decent time, a good tip is to put on the air conditioning to drown out the noise. Don't forget your extra blanket though!
The pool & garden areas were lovely & kept to a high standard, although out rep said the pool was heated but I think the heater was broken as the water was very cold!
The setting was ideal for my Mum as she can't walk too far and she was able to visit the shops on a daily basis, supermarket included.

Dear Portugal2000,

Thank you very much for using your time to give us your impressions about hotel Catalonia Las Vegas . We first want to apologize cause the problem you have with the lifeguard as normally all the staff in the hotel works to fulfill our guest expectations.

Probably the temperature of the water was cause the weather in Tenerife has not been as usual during your stay. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Regarding the external noise , we are taking the appropriate measures to improve it so I am sure we will solve it but as we are in the best location in Puerto de la Cruz sometimes this noise is caused by the beautiful atmosphere of the streets of this wonderfu and cheerful city.

Once again, we want to thank you for taking the time to write your review and we hope that for your next visit will exceed your expectations.

My wife and I stayed at the Catalonia Last Vegas for 1 week from the 1st April, on a half board basis, we found the hotel to be good value for money, the receptionist was very welcoming and we found that all the staff were helpful and cheerful.

The food provide for breakfast was very acceptable, and dinner offered enough choice to enable us to find something to our taste each evening.
We paid a supplement to have a room overlooking the pool and this was a good investment as we had the benefit of the sun for the majority of the day.

The room was well presented, clean and furnishings of a good standard. The bathroom need a little attention in the sealing to the bath had a touch of mould, only a minor gripe.

At the end of our stay we too experienced the large influx of teenagers, however we found them to be well behaved young people, and a smile was usually returned
by the teenagers.

a minor disappointment was a lack of tea/coffee making facilities, as an early riser I missed my early morning cuppa, shall make a note to take my travel kettle next trip

David Penwortham Lancashire.

Room Tip: Overlooking the pool, for the sun, we were on seventh floor and found this to be quiet at night.

we have been to this hotel three times and all the staff are great and very friendly. We stayed there from 28th march to the 8th april this year and near the end of the stay we were invaded by a large party of approx. 70 older school children approx. 16/17 years old. We had difficulty getting into the lifts and near the swimming pool. They were noisy in reception and just pushed us out of the way in the dining room. This totally spoilt out holiday and if this is going to be thing of the future I will not be going back to share my holiday with 70 noisy children. The food at the beginning of the holiday was very basic but did improve near the end of the stay. This I was told was management discussion to take these children. If it continues I will not go back again and I have been three times in a year.

Regarding the students inform to you that the week previous to Eastern holidays is when they make their school trip and that is why our hotel and mostly all hotels of Puerto de la Cruz had students. We take note about your remarks to improve our service and to see the possibilty to not accept them but always we try that the students do not disturb the stay to other guest.

Once again, we want to thank you for taking the time to write your review and my sincerest apologies and we hope that for your next visit will exceed your expectations. You can contact me by mail or phone to be sure that in your next visit will not be students.

We had one week all inclusive at this hotel. The meals were basic but of a good standard and plentiful. We only drink wine and beer which were fine and plentiful. The entertainment included a Beatles tribute act and a comedy conjurer which were both of a high standard. Our room overlooked the sea front and was quite comfortable. The hotel is almost on the sea front and is well placed with bars and shops and restaurants around it. The town centre is a 5 minute walk away. The hotel staff were very pleasant and the reception staff in particular were very helpful and all spoke excellent English. We stayed here as part of a cruise deal and it was very good value indeed through Thomsons.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the sea front.

Recently spent a week at this hotel. It was an excellent experience. The room was clean and the food excellent. It is ideally situated in the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, from which it is easy walking to visit all of the town. The entertainment at night was good as were the games that took place during the day. Lots of fun!! Unfortunately there is no car park so unless you hire a car at the resort then you will end up paying to park.
The one thing I would say is, as my previous review of another hotel here reports, the waiters tend to be a little surly, or they give that impression. The waitresses were friendly and great. When is it going to get across to the Tenerife hoteliers that we like to be served by someone pleasant.
The other problem is if you have a room at the rear of the hotel which overlooks Mount Tiede there is quite a bit of noise from the two night clubs in the early hours of the morning. So book a sea view.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view do not suffer from the noisy people coming out of the clubs. The music cannot...
