Dear Guest:

The hotel is about a mile from the beach up a steep hill located in an area with little else of interest. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach but it stops for lunch. If there are too many for the minibus then they simply leave you behind. The beach is a mixture of black sand ( that gets painfully hot) and rocks that are very painful to walk on. We all needed plasters after our swim.

Breakfast is easily the best meal of the day. The choice of food is traditional Spanish food but unless you go for the grill is bland and tasteless. We went half board, and although there was never any danger of us going hungry, we had to pay extra for any drinks with the meal ( including water).

The desk staff are polite but not overly concerned with making your stay special. English is spoken but there is very little information or help at the hotel to help you decide what you might like to do in Tenerife.
Wifi is only free in the lobby for 1hour per device, per day and is slow.

To get an idea of the standard of the rooms, think travelodge with hard beds. The beds are neat when you get back to your room but the sheets are not always changed or shaken so you can get into a neat but gritty bed.
The rooms are small for a family of four leaving little space between the beds. The headboards are cleverly designed with a horizontal ridge that digs into your back should you wish to sit up in bed. Our front door did not shut properly on its own and the key card had to be reprogrammed twice.

The hotel has a "hands off" approach to hospitality and communication. You are expected to know when Spanish public holidays occur or else, like us, be left stranded in the town waiting for the shuttle bus that is not coming. Delicate hangovers are not helped by the use of an angle grinder in the restaurant during breakfast. The gardener is the most conscientious of the staff, as well as having a well kept and beautiful gardens. Most of the older staff act like disapproving aunts and uncles

You could argue that the back of the hotel (where our room was) overlooks wasteland with noisy deliveries and shouty staff early in the morning or that it has views of the mountains and sea. Both are true. The pool is clean and safe with a life guard on intermittent duty. When we stayed at Easter, the hotel was mainly occupied with elderly Spanish and German guests.

I'd much rather stay in a hotel where you can get a cup of tea or coffee anytime during the day than one that has indoor water features and an aviary.

Room Tip: You could argue that the back of the hotel (where our room was) overlooks wasteland with noisy deliv...

Simple review rooms were great clean and modern hotel was modern no tea or coffee in the rooms tho only in bar, hotel is lovely the pool and view is truly stunning.. Only problem was clouds from the mountain we only had about 2 days full sun in the week Breakfast was buffet style which I enjoyed but some people are picky had bacon scrambled egg and tomatoes toast loads of yogurts fresh juice tea coffee cereals.. Bar food was ok pretty simple hot dogs stuff like that quite a walk from the town walking back so cab unless you like walking very hilly, nightlife was poor wasn't many English people at all mostly German I think but depends what you are looking for and make sure if u book a trip go to the stall on the corner as I was not clearly directed and lost my booking money and ruined mine and my girlfriends day other than that hotel is nice but don't think I would return personnel preference not really catered for the british my rating is based on hotel only.

Good points:

Good room, well cleaned, cant complain
Very helpful staff, friendly and fun
Good selection of food at the buffets, tasty and my girlfriend did fancy the chef
Pool was grand with great views of Tiede, wish it was open earlier/later though
Nice gardens throughout with cheerful gardeners quick to offer the ladies a flower ;P
Entertainment; quite pathetic but fun in a benedorm way
Spa is worth the money
Area; perfect for trips and walks into town

Bad:

Weird 'traditional' priced photo ops during meal times on some occasions

Just got back from a week at this hotel 9-16th march, checked in lovely then upgraded to a suite for extra 280 euros which was well worth it! Ground floor, leads straight out to the pool, huge round bath! Food is average always something to eat, but sometimes warm not hot! Pool is lovely and heated! Not much outside the hotel supermarket about 10 mins walk, the Lora parq is a must lovely day out! All in all good holiday.

stay 8th-14th february, young pair with 3 and 1,5 year-old children. good location, easy to find a parking place, very good breakfast and dinner. nice staff, the spoke english and german as well, helped with printing out the boarding cards, very good and large room, place for 2 baby cots, very big and comfortable beds, 1 bottle of champagne as a birthday present for my wife, heated pool, hot tube, babies were allowed to go in, even though the signs permitted it. the inside wellness area was not included, only for a surcharge. 2 elevators were enough, the free internet access is only at the bar area enough strong.

arrived 6th january for 2 weeks and we were given room facing bqack towards mountains with a view of the sea, very little sun but very quiet which was good.comfortable room good lighting, very clean as was the whole hotel, lounge areas upstairs lovely.lots of space to sit with an outside terrace.good heated pool with lovely gardens and plenty of sunbeds, food was limited but very good, i am vegetarian so the usual problems with meat in some of the salads, but i always managed to find something,we were all inclusive and were pleased to find branded drinks which was great, you were given a card to use for the all inclusive bar which was quite a long process rather than just wearing your armband.plent of room at bar with stools, entertainment area and chairs and tables on the other side for those who didnt want to watch the shows, good staff particularly carlos at the bar,spa was great the best we have ever been in,we got a discount for over 55yrs so got in for 15 eauros for two,it was lovely, the not so lovely bits now, jacuzzi at pool outside said no children but they were in there and nothing was done about it,mainly german clientele,no english tv at all, very quiet at night.everyone seemed to disappear after dinner.jorge the animator did his best, lovely guy but the entertainment was bad,the usual terrible animal shows and some silly games done by the animation team, why cant they put some decent music on and show people dances such as salsa, cha cha etc. as said before hotel is out of puerto but there is a good courtesy bus most weekdays,we hd a car and normallyy managed to park.nearest newspaper kiosk about 5 mins away and about ten to supermarkets bars etc. we are in tenerife for a few weeks so off to playa la arena now and will report from there
