Just back from a week at this hotel. The food was adequate but often cold. Staff in restaurant very nice but reception staff unfriendly and not very helpful. As a family of four we were put into a room with very little space, and not as advertised. The Spanish people staying there not too friendly either. Pool area nice. Entertainment rubbish- kids stuff started far too late and finished at ridiculous times. Would need big changes to entice me back.

My husband , my 9 year old son and I are just back from a weeks stay at this hotel , on arrival i had a feeling it was not at all what was advertised. We booked the hotel as it had advertised a great kids club and something for all the family . On the first day , there was a kids disco for 30minutes. My son and two other kids were the only children there. Two days later the other kids left and my son was the only kid .Alot of events were cancelled because of low numbers. On a daily bases coach loads of old aged pensioners arrived , they were all lovely but , this hotel is for the more seasoned traveler. It is situated about 2 miles from the centre of Puerto del Cruz , and we went there most evenings , as there were lots of kids in the main square , playa de charca This is a very very dated hotel , even though the staff were nice we won t be back.

Room Tip: If booking request a pool side room. Be aware cocks crow at 4am.

Being residents in south Tenerife, and a regular visiter to the hotel for weekend breaks, we decided to just use their Spa facilities while visiting the north for the day yesterday. Thank you to Fabio the receptionist for making us feel welcome again, and to all the staff within the hotel. Hopefully next time you see us, it will be for one of our weekend breaks. Until next time, take care all :-)

My wife and I stayed for a week at end of April 2014. The room was clean and comfortable but there was no air conditioning but a warm air system. A TV was provided but not one English language channel, fine if you understood Spanish or German. The ceiling fan was very noisy initially but the hotel rectified it quickly. All the food served in the restaurant was cold if collected from the food trays, since there was no hot water or means of heating underneath it. Meat or food cooked on the hotplate by the Chef was fine. We did complain about this to the Head Chef personally, but nothing improved. The waiters and waitresses were always polite and courteous.
The pool was clean and had plenty of sunbeds and parasols, however the water was cold and unheated. Evening entertainment was of a poor quality.
We were pleased with the hotel mini bus service which took us and collected from Puerto de la Cruz at regular intervals during the day.
We would not return or recommend this hotel to our friends.

We stayed at Easter and found the hotel to be of a very good standard. It is very chilled and relaxed, almost horizontal. The clientele is mainly elderly Spanish and the staff don't speak much English however they are still very attentive. We paid 110 euros each way for a taxi from the airport however I believe a pre booked transfer is cheaper (providing they turn up) and stayed in a pool view room with a stunning view of the volcano. As a family of 4 we found the rooms quite small but to be honest we did not mind as we were not in it much as we were lucky enough to have excellent weather. We stayed AI and found the food to be excellent, freshly prepared with the fish and meats very well presented. The Bar service was slightly slow but after about a day we couldn't,t care less as we had become like the hotel (chilled) and in fairness when it got busy they would send help down from the restaurant. For what it's worth and having stayed at other AI's the drinks served were of a good standard and in my opinion not watered down at all but I am not really an expert.

The town is much nicer than the resorts down South- maybe not quite classy but much more authentic with a good selection of shops. There must be some about but I cannot recall seeing one British Bar selling cooked breakfast and a pint of Guinness for a euro!

Basically a lovely place which seemed well run and importantly the staff all seemed relaxed (you can tell) which was catchy. You'll either love it and start to move slowly and finish your holiday book by day 4(take 2) or it could frustrate you if you want a more lively experience. We loved it and are grateful for the week we stayed.

Room Tip: Make sure you have your blue medical cards. There is a medical centre in the town which is free with...

The hotel is about a mile from the beach up a steep hill located in an area with little else of interest. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach but it stops for lunch. If there are too many for the minibus then they simply leave you behind. The beach is a mixture of black sand ( that gets painfully hot) and rocks that are very painful to walk on. We all needed plasters after our swim.

Breakfast is easily the best meal of the day. The choice of food is traditional Spanish food but unless you go for the grill is bland and tasteless. We went half board, and although there was never any danger of us going hungry, we had to pay extra for any drinks with the meal ( including water).

The desk staff are polite but not overly concerned with making your stay special. English is spoken but there is very little information or help at the hotel to help you decide what you might like to do in Tenerife.
Wifi is only free in the lobby for 1hour per device, per day and is slow.

To get an idea of the standard of the rooms, think travelodge with hard beds. The beds are neat when you get back to your room but the sheets are not always changed or shaken so you can get into a neat but gritty bed.
The rooms are small for a family of four leaving little space between the beds. The headboards are cleverly designed with a horizontal ridge that digs into your back should you wish to sit up in bed. Our front door did not shut properly on its own and the key card had to be reprogrammed twice.

The hotel has a "hands off" approach to hospitality and communication. You are expected to know when Spanish public holidays occur or else, like us, be left stranded in the town waiting for the shuttle bus that is not coming. Delicate hangovers are not helped by the use of an angle grinder in the restaurant during breakfast. The gardener is the most conscientious of the staff, as well as having a well kept and beautiful gardens. Most of the older staff act like disapproving aunts and uncles

You could argue that the back of the hotel (where our room was) overlooks wasteland with noisy deliveries and shouty staff early in the morning or that it has views of the mountains and sea. Both are true. The pool is clean and safe with a life guard on intermittent duty. When we stayed at Easter, the hotel was mainly occupied with elderly Spanish and German guests.

I'd much rather stay in a hotel where you can get a cup of tea or coffee anytime during the day than one that has indoor water features and an aviary.

Room Tip: You could argue that the back of the hotel (where our room was) overlooks wasteland with noisy deliv...
