“Fabulous Food /Fantastic Staff /Very Clean and Quiet”
Reviewed 19 April 2013

Stayed here for a week with the children, first holiday abroad without husband. The staff here were fantastic - so ready to help and very friendly.
The hotel was super clean and our room was a very pleasant surprise.I am Mrs Fussy and was a little anxious as to what we would expect...however talk about value for money. The pools and gardens are beautiful - our room had a corner balcony so a view of the sea and Mount Tieded - gorgeous.
The children ( 17 14) loved the food as did I - we were full board ( all inc) and enjoyed the super snacks by the pool as well.Pleanty of resh salads at meal times and tons of choice. The hotel is favoured by Spanish couples ...I would say 55 plus but nonetheless everyone is very friendly and I and the children felt very safe as there are no lager louts here.Whilst the hotel is quiet there is plenty to do - walk into the town ( taxi back up the hill only 3-4 euros) catch the local Titsa bus go to the zoo on the free min train....we even went on a Miller 'blanket' tour ( I had never heard of them before) sales pitch boring but trip to mount Tiede for 12 euros was a fantastic bargain; lunch was included as was a boat trip at Playa de las Americas and we were lucky enough to see whales!

Hi,

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Canarife Palace for a week - all inclusive. Booked with lowcostholidays.com - was a bit afraid as the price was a lot cheaper than with anyone else.. but I am glad we did buy our holidays with them! Thats what I call a budget holiday ;)

Blue Sea hotels are: Interpalace (across the street, first on the left), Bonanza (first on your right) & Canarife (next to Bonanza). You can use facilities in all of them, which is great, because if there is no spare sunbeds at Canrife/Bonanza you can always try Interpalace.

Room: Canarife Palace is a lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious, bathrooms look amazing and the view from our room was stunning. You get a small LCD TV with loads of German channels ;) There is also a small fridge which comes in quite handy when you need a cold drink at night or early in the morning ;) You can expect some lovely views if you get a room on the 7th floor.

Food: There is a large variety of dishes and every day (for lunch and dinner) the hotel offered different types of food - seafood, mexican, italian, english, american etc. I must say the food was amazing!

Facilities: not enough bars opened through the day. It did not bother us at the beginning of our stay, but closer to the weekend, when more guests arrived, it was a bit annoying that you had to stay in a queue to get a drink or that the pizza snacks were long gone before you decided to grab a slice...

Pools: The main pool was excellent, the smaller one was quiet and warmer than the bigger one ;) Closer to the weekend - more and more people were arriving at the hotel, hence little room by the pool (we went to Tenerife on 24th March 2013). That did not really bother us as you get still plenty of room around the bar, ping pong area, garden, playground area to sit or lie down on a towel.

Guests: mainly Spanish and German (which is a good thing if you want a quiet holiday). Few Russian, Polish and English. More English tourists at Interpalace.

Animation & entertainment - very cheesy but in a..good way ;) you will even last through the whole evening show if you get the right amount of alcohol in your system lol
other than that - lots of activities for children, mini disco, snake & falconry show, cabaret, live music etc.

Location: Perfect! in a quieter area of Puerto but only 15min walk from i.e. Lago in city centre.

Overall: Excellent budget hotel :) would love to come back and will definitely recommend it to family and friends. We loved everything about our stay - no complaints at all.

My advice: if you are going to Tenerife do not book any transfers to/from the airport. if you really want to save money - go with the Titsa bus (local bus). It will take you to Puerto de la cruz in just over 1hr from the Southern airport for only 13 euros! The buses are nice, new, clean and take the same time than any other coach/taxi/shuttle...

I hope my review helped you with making the decision :)

have a lovely stay at Canarife Hotel :)
thanks

My boyfriend and I booked a last minute get away at the end of the summer with a cheap tour operator. We were told by the tour operator that it was a 5 * hotel. We knew because of the price we were paying it wouldn’t be as nice as a proper 5* hotel, however we weren’t expecting it to be more in the region of a 2*.

This was our first all-inclusive holiday and was slightly disappointed to say the least. By the pool, you had to go into a gazebo type tent, which stank of sick. There was very little choice and no brands that you would recognise. All labels were in Spanish so it was very hit and miss as to what you were drinking. It would be nice if, in front of the drinks, there were placards saying what the drink was in English and German, as these seemed to be the two biggest tourist groups at the hotel.

The food could be ok at times. Breakfast there was a wide variety of food and was almost always hot. Lunch you had to go over to the sister hotel. We only ate there once but it was nice enough. Dinner there wasn’t much variety, they often left labels off of food so you didn’t know what you were eating, which is very bad if you have allergies. My main problem with the food, apart from the general quality, was the fact that such large portions were brought out to sit at the buffet, you wouldn’t know for how many hours that food has just sat there, keeping tepid under the lights of the buffet cart.

The entertainment was laughable really. In this hotel we stayed to watch the entertainment purely to mock it. It was a man in his 50’s playing the keyboard. It’s the sort of thing you’d watch if you stumbled across it on YouTube, and you were really, really bored.

The pool was always clean, and so were the surrounding areas. The pool staff tried their best to engage people in daytime activities such as water polo but no one was really interested.
The rooms: we were told we’d have either an ocean view or a view of Mt Teide. I’m not sure why they advertised having an ocean view from any of the rooms because that was impossible, nowhere from the hotel were you able to see the sea. Our room looked directly into the neighbours living room and was right above the loading bay for the vans etc that drop off/pick up food/waste so it didn’t smell too good.

The cleaners showed up twice during our stay and we’d rather they hadn’t shown up the second time because an awful lot of things went missing afterwards...

My boyfriend and I had left at about 9 in the morning to go on a day trip to see Mt. Teide (which is a must if you do go to Tenerife). The hotel staff knew this as we were inquiring about bus times etc the day before, and there is only one bus there and back each day, so they knew when we’d be gone and when we’d be coming back.
After arriving back from a wonderful trip to see Mt. Teide we noticed that by boyfriend’s flip-flops had disappeared, having thought the cleaning staff had just moved them we carried on looking for them, we then realised that my iPhone, which was in the bedside drawer had also gone missing, as well as my MacBook which had been left on the side, as well as the chargers for these two. My boyfriend’s rather expensive headphones (which had been underneath a big pile of our clothes) and watch had also disappeared.

We calmly went downstairs to report these items missing to the receptionist, luckily the only one who speaks relatively good English was there so she could understand us. We were told that we must have left the door open as this sort of thing doesn’t happen at their hotel. I am so conscious of things like this, I ALWAYS double check locking the door, even at home!

We were told to ring the police, which we did, we then had to go to the police station and report the crime formally, which was a nightmare because no one spoke English and there were no translators available because it was past 9 at night.

The reception staff didn’t seem to take us seriously they weren’t sympathetic at all, we felt they didn’t do anything to try and right the wrong had happened. Looking back we probably should have demanded more be done, but we don’t speak Spanish, we were in an unknown country and didn’t know what could happen if we did start mouthing off.

The next day we spoke with the manager, she was very kind but again, showed no sympathy, maintaining that none of the staff could have done this. It could have only been the staff as they were the only ones with access to our room. She said the police would come and dust for fingerprints the next day, she also said she would get a list of who had entered the room by key card that day. We were due to fly home the next day so didn’t get to speak to her again but it took several emails over 2 months after we returned to get a response which only said someone had been caught in another hotel with regards to similar incidents but it had nothing to do with ours and that was that. The hotel did not take responsibility and showed no sympathy to the fact that someone on their staff had come into our room whilst we were away and had stolen almost £2000 worth of stuff.

Tenerife is a lovely place with some great attractions, just don’t stay here!

Room Tip: Always use the safe provided, having valuable hidden in a drawer in a locked room is not enough

Just returned from 5 days at the Canarife Palace. The transfer bus dropped us at the Interpalace across the road, thought it was a bad start but no! Walked across the road to the Canarife Palace where the staff were friendly and helpful. They informed us that we could use the facilities of all three Blue Sea Resort hotels: The Canarife Palace; the Bonanza Palace and the Interpalace. The room was large bright and airy. We went all inclusive and the variety of food was good and although the alcohol was of the local variety it was "help yourself"
All in all thoroughly recommended

upon arrival we was dumped in between the 3 hotels, the canarife palace, the interpalace and the bonanza,we entered the interpalace to be told it was the bonanza, there was no reception here so a waiter told us to go to the canarife which was as luck would have it (so i thought) our hotel. as this was the only one without a damp smell i was quite pleased albeit for a very short time, the food at best is edible, the entertainment is laughable, on par with what you would find on the end of blackpool pier, the drinks come in plastic containers and when you ask for glass they say their too busy and its not possible to keep washing them so plastic it is.the only entertainment outside of the hotel is down 150 feet below the resort...lots of stairs so coming back at night is a 4 euro taxi ride, i paid over a £1000 for 1 week in this hell hole all inclusive but after 2 days hired a car, drove down south and got a room for 2 nights at even more expense.the staff are rude and the indoor pool shocking, the poolside bar/snacks is a self serve shed, apart from all this i had a great time (in los americas) if you choose to ignore this advice your either brave or already paid like i had.enjoy your holiday and plese leave us your review for my amusement.

My self and my partner booked this holiday Thinking it was a five star hotel as we were told.. Oh how wrong was that . After arriving at the Canerife we was told our booking was at the interpalace across the road, their was no porters or help to carry our luggage, when we finally got booked in and found our room, it was stinking, damp and well worn and tired looking we phoned our tour operator and explained that we had booked 5 star and got 1 star and explained about the room, she said she would get back to us, a few minuets later we got a call from reception telling us we had 5 minuets to get our stuff ready and get out of the room we were going to be moved because wwe had complained. The very rude staff just thumped down keys and told us go acrooss the road to sister hotel and u will find a room there for u, this was at least a bit better,
positive points... food was good, nice area, pools ok, that was it
the staff extreammly rude, I asked for a coffee at the pool bar because the coffee machine was broken I was all inclusive but even offered to pay and after a few grunts andwas told to go across the road and to the pool area of the other hotel if i wanted a coffee, no help at all.. the bar in the hotel was open 1 night and sold everything apart from beer, staff very unfriendly, rude and unhelpful, their was not enough seats for people to see the entertainment ( even though it was poor) you had to stand behind a crowd of people and hope to get a glimpse of it now and again. I left my purse behind and when I phoned and explained this to the hotel they assured me they would send it along with my cards but that never happend could not be bothered too busy.( doing what i dont know) would never go back to puerto del a cruz again I will stay in Las americas where the people and staff are friendly. Think they need to take a leaf out of turkeys book where the staff band people go out of their way to be helpful, friendly and polite... This is what makes a holiday. we spent as little time at this dump as possible.

my husband, our 15 month year old , and i stayed at this hotel from the 12th to the 15th of November 2012. originally we thought we were supposed to stay at the blue sea interpalace but we were told our room was at canarife which is part of the hotel group. the rooms were huge, airy and very clean. pleanty of hot water and a powerful shower. we went all inclusive and the servvice was great. the staff were very friendly and professional and were always smiling at us. the food was absolutely delicious, and the variety was great. we never had the same meal twice. breakfast was also varied and you could have continental or full english. alcohola was plenty and your could have as many coktails as you can hold. tbh i dont see why some people leave negative reviews, our stay was so great next time we are dragging our friends and their kids along. i would recommend this hotel 100%.

Room Tip: we got a room in the 4th floor and the view was fantastic.wwe faced the mountain to our right and th...
