This hotel is located nicely in an almost park-like environment. There is a separate building for their restaurant, where their great breakfasts are served. Their rooms are about the usual standard, but some of the lowest (up to 4th store) mountain-looking rooms look into the rather dull canyon wall. There is a shuttle bus to the center of the town, and it, or a taxi (cheap!) is the only way to come back from downtown (at least for elderly people). But on the other hand, the hotel is in a quiet environment.

My partner and I arrived late on a Tuesday evening and were very warmly welcomed by the receptionist who explained everything we needed to know in good English. We had a apartment room in the 8th floor with a lovely balcony and kitchen facilities, the room was very modern and catered all our needs. The buffet breakfast was very nice, you could choose from meat, vegetables, cereals or fruit. The buffet dinner was also very nice with plenty of options to choose from. The waiting staff were pleasant and always wanted to help. The hotel is in a very good location with beautiful gardens and a beautiful building. The staff at the hotel were amazing and always wanted to help. We were both very pleased with this holiday and would defiantly come back again!!

We stayed gere for 7 nights and were based on 6th floor of the main hotel. We had an apartment even though we were half board. The room is a lovely size with a little kitchenette, lounge/dining room, a massive bathroom, lovely double bedroom and a nice balcony. The kitchen facilities though good would not be up to standard for self catered. The food produced by the restaurant is brilliant and constantly monitored. The waiters are quick and efficent. There are enough pools that you aren't sitting on top of others. The only downside is that it could do with a bit of a paint job on the outside. The walk to town isnt long but the shuttle bus is brilliant as the hill Eden sits on is nicknamed cardiac hill for a reason! The thomsom rep we had was great had brilliant knowledge of the area and weng out of her way to help!

All in all a great stay and we would go back!

Arriving late on a Sunday night, as there were no parking spots in the main car park, I had to run in to reception to ask where to park. I was given a map, which my 9 year old could've drawn better, 'showing' me where the rear car park was. We spent a good 10 minutes in the area trying to locate the road leading to the car park in the dark night. Eventually, we pulled up to a closed gate and on a small plaque the name of the hotel was written- it would have been useful to know that the turning for the car park is actually the first around the bend!
Our room for the night was adequate except that we were facing the gorge/waste pipes and we were above the restaurant entrance. This is the spot where people like to have their pre-breakfast cigarette, so the smoke filters upwards to the balcony.
We asked for a change of rooms, which the lady at reception managed to arrange. We got moved to a room on the other side of the building facing the gardens and the pool but the following morning we had several visitors in our room, mostly on their backs.
Swiftly moved to another room which was fine for the rest of the stay, apart from the freezer not freezing well because there was no door on the freezer section.
Housecleaning were efficient and polite. The rooms are cleaned every day apart from Sunday.
There are 4 pools, top floor of the main building (nudist), 5th floor of the main building, and behind the restaurant of Eden Luz there is a children's pool and a standard sized pool. We only used the 2 pools at the Eden Luz as our room was in this building. Their pools are salt watered.
The gardens were well maintained and had lots of interesting lizards. There is also Mini golf, but 2 of the holes were being repaired on the day we played and beside the pool is a tennis court. 4€ washing machine use for 1hr 10 mins.
Yes, the hotel is up a steep hill and even children can walk their way up it, but I wouldn't recommend it for pushchairs or heavily laden shopping!
If you have a car then there is a lidl and an alcampo nearby for your shopping needs.
Overall, I would say the place is adequate as a base. The pools were nice, there wasn't the usual hogging of sun-beds, breakfast was the usual continental + British buffet-nothing outstanding but nothing to complain about, the staff were friendly and polite and with a car the hotel is easily accessible.

Room tip: Eden Luz top floor is quieter and has better views (rooms starting 15xx)

All looks good and very up market in the pictures. I was on the first floor overlooking the buranca. A very painful experience. A two week visit and over 30 mosquito bites.

additionally i was over the restaurant, very very noisy and you get the smell all the time. i did hope the smell would drive the mosquitoes away but unfortunately no such luck.

The studio was supposedly self catering. That was a joke in itself, unless you are living on self prepared products. No sharp cutting knives, no bread knife, even had to ask for a cork screw but was told to take the bottle to the bar.

And the bar.....i started to feel like i was asking them for a favour when i ordered a drink, some of the grumpiest bar staff i have met.

On the plus side, the room was cleaned to a very good standard everyday bar Sunday. I have no faults at all with the cleaners, a very good job by them and i expect on minimal pay.

The hill is very steep and if you do plan on shopping it pays to work it around the return run from town, this is another plus in their favour with a free mini-bus laid on. The taxi is cheap enough, averaging about 3 Euroes 50, but this soon adds up.

The coffee in the bar is some of the best i have ever tasted, would it bring me back? No chance.

Would i stay here again....no. If i was coming back to Puerto on a budget i would go back to the Bellavista again, I have now moved into the Casablanca for the next 5 weeks and this is my preferred place to stay, only reason i chose the Eden was i decided to come out two weeks early and the Casablanca was fully booked.

Room tip: the higher the better away from the insects
