We live in the South of Tenerife and spend many short breaks in one of Puerto de La Cruz's hotels. Regardless of some of the poor reviews we read of the Dania Park Hotel we booked 3 nights, all inclusive, on the recommendation of some friends who stayed there recently. We were therefor pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome at the reception desk and the professional checking in procedure. During our stay we found the staff from Barman to Cleaning lady's very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, Lunch and Evening dinner, was considering the price we paid, well varied and value for money. Rooms, Beds, Balcony with views were quit good. However we were unable to make use of the swimming pool and whirlpool due to 150 child football players also staying at the hotel if we had been told this we would never haved booked there was never any compensation offered as these children took over the hotel

I have just got back from this hotel, stayed here for a week all inclusive at the beginning of June with my fiancé. Booked last minute. We were a little apprehensive as the hotel had no reviewed! We are of ages 22 and 24.

Rooms: very big, cleaned every day, spotless, could not fault them. Every room had a balcony. Always ask for a seaview or you will end up with a balcony facing out onto the busy streets.

Food: really good quality food. Never greasy or sloppy. They change the food everyday. We were here for a week and didn't get bored. If you are a fussy eater then it probably isn't for you. There are 6 things to choose from at each meal time with salad and bread too. Downside: there was 1 dessert to chose from other than fruit. I like a dessert so that was a negative. No snacks are provided throughout the day which can be annoying at times.

Drinks: couldn't fault the drinks whatsoever. We had cocktails, shots, wine, beer and every spirit you can think of. They are not tight with their measures at all!

Entertainment: this was the worst part of the hotel. They had the same guy doing entertainment the whole week I was there. He was a keyboard player who sung Spanish songs all night. The hotel is full of old people, which made the atmosphere in the evenings not good as they were dancing happily to the Spanish singing by the entertainer. Not my sort of thing at all. Not even a flamenco show or any kids entertainment at all. My fiancé and I played a few games of pool then went and sat in the lobby to play cards. This was the only place the wifi worked too. You have to go out to local bars just to get some form of decent entertainment.

Staff: couldn't fault then. Very good service. Jose on reception spoke such good English and will help you with anything. Really nice guy. There is a guy that works behind the bar, I don't remember his name but he was such a sweetie. He worked so hard and always had a smile on his face and was so polite.

Pool: the pool was great, being on the rooftop is so nice. It's always hot and there is a jacuzzi too. The views are amazing and you can see mount teide between the hours of 10 and 1 which is fantastic. The whole 360 views from up there are great. The bar by the pool closes for lunch which can be an inconvenience as if you finish lunch quickly you then have to wait an hour or more for the upstairs bar to re-open just to get a drink.

Location: really good. Beach is 10 minute walk away. You are surrounded by shops restaurants and bars it's in a great location

Transfer: transfer time from Tenerife South airport is around an hour and a half.

Overall good hotel. Just full of old people all the time and the entertainment is not worth hanging around for. 7 nights listening to the same thing can get pretty annoying!!

I have uploaded some pics of the hotel too.

Thanks

Jade.

We were moved to this hotel when we arrived at the hotel we had booked the Palmeras Playa (studio apartment)due to water problems. Were told you'll love it it's a 4*. Not true. We were booked all inclusive but had to play 'hunt the bar' to find a drink.
Only open on roof during the day - weather permitting and in a small lounge area after 6pm if you were lucky. All drinks served in disposable plastic glasses. As for the food - always warm never hot. Did not look very appetizing and limited choices
The rooms were of a much higher standard and serviced every day but no fridge/mini bar but had a view into 'back yard' from balcony.
