This second floor apartment is spacious and well located, close to the centre of Santa Cruz. It has a balcony which is ideal for catching the sun in the morning:)
The amenities are OK and internet access reliable, especially in the main living room where the modem is located.
If travelling from the airport (Tenerife South) by bus, catch the No 111 to Intercabriador, the main bus station in Santa Cruz. Go down two levels and enter the main hallway, where outside you'll see the terminus to the tram (Line 1). Buy a ticket from a machine and go five stops in the direction of Trinidad, alighting after five stopsat Puente Zurita. The apartment is less than five minutes walk for here.
important points to note. You don't really need to use public transport in the centre of Santa Cruz. However, while walking there from the apartment is mostly downhill and relatively easy, returning by foot means you'll have some uphill stretches. In terms of facilities, there are a few supermarkets close by - I would recommend Hiper Dino, around 5 minutes walk from the apartment. As for attractions, the Museum of Natural History and Archeology and the African Market are both worth a visit.
When returning to the airport give yourself plenty of time. The 111 from Intercabriador takes over an hour, with buses leaving every half hour.
Santa Cruz has a cooler climate than the southern part of Tenerife, where most of the tourist resorts are located. However, it is an authentic town and well worth visit.
We stayed for 3 nights in Morerba's apartment and really enjoyed our stay. The apartment itself was very comfortable with a small balcony overlooking the city and it was really well located just round the corner from a tram stop. this made travelling round Santa Cruz very easy e.g access to the shopping areas, cafes restaurants, bus station etc. The bus network is very good and cheap on the island and we travelled on it to Los Christianos and Puerto de la Cruz in the north. it takes about 30 mins to get to La Laguna on the tram, a world heritage site well worth visiting.
Morerba was lovely, very helpful and let us leave our luggage in her store room on our last day as we had a late flight. We'd love to visit again !
