“Ideal for a City Holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2014

We chose this hotel for a post-cruise couple of nights as we have stayed in "Silken" hotels before and know the standard is really good. Plus it is close to the bus station so ideal for exploring the Island. The annual "Carnaval" festivities were in full swing when we were there so it was nice to be out of the thick of it but able to watch the decorated floats pass by as they went on their way to the main procession. We asked for a high floor and were put on the top floor 8, all that was above was the fitness area and roof terrace - no extra charge for the machines, Jacuzzi and showers with free towels which could be used with sun beds. We were able to make use of the latter on our last day. The view of the city from here and the scenic external lift was really stunning. It was very busy when we arrived mid morning, business people had been staying then the hotel was to fill up with "Carnaval" revellers. The extremely friendly and helpful staff told us our room was not yet ready so we left the luggage and got a bus to Puerto de la Cruz, a delightful holiday town well worth the visit. Our room had a good view too and was not noisy at night despite all the festivities which went on well in to the early morning. Really comfortable bed, spacious accommodation and well equipped bathroom, one couldn't ask for more. The bar and restaurant were modern in layout but offered a snack and full menu although not open till 2030, a bit late for us. We made use of the friendly bar though and later lots of guests dined here and all the food looked lovely tempting us to a plate of "Iberico" ham available any time - delicious! The free wifi was web-only so the ipod did not work. No problem as the mall 2 blocks down the street, the "Tres de Mayo" centre had good free service in the central hall areas. Special mention must be made of the breakfast. We booked inclusive B&B otherwise it would be 16 euros each. However, the quality of the offerings make it a gourmet meal on its own. Excellent quality cold meats, local cheeses, any amount and variety of fruit, bacon and egg for those missing home(!) although when in the Canaries, eat their food! Santa Cruz is well worth another visit and this hotel is ideal plus it is near to the large department store "El Corte Ingles" as well as numerous other shops and a couple of malls. Lots of local style bars especially down the street opposite by the petrol station. Food served all hours here and they serve the local beer "Dorada" which is very good. For those who miss a beach in the city, a ten minute bus ride takes you to "Las Teresitas", a lovely artificial one of Saharan sand!

Room Tip: A high floor for a quieter time.

I stayed for one night on a recent business trip. The Hotel is spotlessly clean, have a quick and helpful check in system are you are greeted with a warm welcome.
The rooms are spacious and uncluttered and the bathroom is big and well equipped.
The bar restaurant is well priced for a hotel and welcoming and the breakfast choice is extensive and well prepared. Absolutely ideal for business stay and I would certainly also book for a holiday since it is a short walk from the seafront and near to the bus Station for exploring.
Can recommend.

We booked this hotel as our flight was quite late into tenerife south and this was very near the bus station and well reviewed. We got a very good deal on Booking.com which included breakfast (try to find an inclusive rate as breakfast is 16 euros each if you pay separately). I'd emailed beforehand to get a quiet room so we had no view (see room tips), but the room was well equipped, huge bed, toiletries etc. Bathroom needed a bit of attention to cleaning behind the shower curtain, but it was pretty good, and it was lovely to have a deep hot bath with bubble bath provided! Reception staff were efficient and spoke good English. Breakfast buffet had excellent choice; "hot" items were tepid; this seems usual in Spain. I would choose cold instead! We didn't eat any other meals; were a bit put off by the bar/restaurant (it didn't seem very clear what to do, how much it cost or welcoming). But for an overnight stay it's very good and perfect for onward travel by bus. The panoramic lift is fun, and do visit the roof terrace up by the spa as the view is excellent (apart from the oil refinery at this end of town)

Santa Cruz itself doesn't have a great deal to recommend it, although the new archtitecture/ polls etc on the seafront are interesting. The tram to La Laguna is good and that is a World heritage site for its historic buildings. Better still, leave and go to La Orotava which is a stunning WHS and very characterful.

Room Tip: Decide if you want road noise and a view or an inside room (into courtyard close to other buildings...

We were arriving very late (2am.) after catching the bus from the South Airport and so we chose this hotel because it was just a couple of minutes walk from the bus station.
Although it is geared mainly towards conferences and seminars , for the tourist it is still a good value option. The rooms are a good size, the public areas bright and clean and the staff cheerful and helpful.
Wi-Fi is free, with a good connection in the room. If you want to do something more than check out the web and send emails there is an extra charge.
We stayed on a room only basis. Breakfast is an extra €24, €32 or €39 2pax. Depending on what you require. You are only a ten minute walk from the market or fifteen minutes from the centre of town and there are plenty of cheap breakfast options in the local cafes.
The top floor has a sundeck with loungers, 2 Jacuzzis and a male sauna and female sauna.
Loved Santa Cruz and would happily stay at the Silken Atlantida again.

This is a modern hotel close to main bus and tram stations, and walkable from the cruise terminal which is why we chose it. The room was spacious and very clean, with minibar, aircon, nice toiletries in the bathroom and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. We asked for a quiet room - we were allocated a room on the third floor, you could hear the traffic noise but with the windows shut it was not loud enough to keep us awake. We found the cheapest price for the room was on the hotel's own website and we thought it very good value, which included breakfast. Breakfast itself was very nice - the usual continental items plus scambled eggs, bacon and frankfurter type sausages, smoked salmon, an array of cakes and Canarian specialities and even cava for a bucks fizz! Wierdly you could hear people talking through the ceiling vent in the bathroom and I think the faint whiff of smoke was coming from there as well. The jacuzzis could have been a bit cleaner but the sun terrace was nice. Reception staff were very helpful and we had a great stay. However, when I returned home to the UK I found out that Atlantida had twice tried to pre-authorise the room payment using an incorrect expiry date hence my bank had blocked my card thinking this was a fraudulent transaction!

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room if not a smoker as certain floors are smoking floors.

Efficient and polite check-in. Spacious and excellent fitted out rooms. I couldn't believe my luck.
Oh, and it was close to the bus station and walkable to the cruise terminals. I got two rooms, fridge, two TVs, great views. There is a large gym on the top floor with some sun bathing too.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the external lift

This is a new, modern and clean hotel (opened in 2002) with a very good location in the town centre of Santa Cruz.
The hotel Reception team provides a good service and an excellent hospitality. As our room was not yet ready when we checked-in, we were upgraded to a VIP suite with free access to a complimentary cafeteria open 24/24 h offering tea, coffee, fruit and pastries.
The hotel is very secure with CCTV cameras everywhere and a night watchman.
We only spent one night at Silken Atlantida and had the opportunity to see two different airlines crews stay in the hotel. That obviously gives evidence that the accommodation is suitable.
Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is perfect.
We also appreciated the jacuzzi, sauna and gym as well at the spa located at the 9th floor terrace with a very new view of Santa Cruz.
Next to the hotel (100 metres) is a large shopping centre with Carrefour hypermarket and many restaurants, cinemas and shops. The lighting in the suite is however not sufficient.
As far as car parking is concerned, we unfortunately had no other choice than paying for an extra 12€ for the underground parking because it is very difficult or even almost impossible to park in the downtown streets.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, take a suite in "la planta ejecutiva" or VIP corner(1st floor) with...
