“Just brilliant”

It was an experiment for us, not our usual choice of accommodation, and our kids were taking bets on how long we would last before checking into an hotel.
Well, we wished we could have stayed longer, it was a lesson for us in how little one needs to have a perfect time in a beautiful, authentic Tenerife hamlet, a heartbeat from the sea.
Books, paints, binoculars, good company, music and wine... What more could one ask?
Thank you Julien, we will be back!

“So closed to the sea is all you care about”

If you are not looking for super comfort but the luxury of having the sound and the view of he sea every moment, this is the place for you. The little house is basic but have everything needed for a short and quiet stay in the island, no TV, WIFI. and limited electricity. We managed to slow down and relax almost instantly after arriving and enjoy the beauty of this rarely unspoilt spot in Tenerife, away from the crowds and mega hotels and apartments that are a more common feature of this island.

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed 15 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Tucked away at the end of a narrow road and hidden from all the brash development nearby, you arrive in an unspoilt, white fishing village tumbling down the hillside into the sea. A rare find indeed.
Robinson House is, as advertised, basic and no-frills but none of this matters when you can see and hear the ocean through the open windows or from the panoramic roof terrace with its 360 degree views. The house has everything you need on holiday (we loved the quirky shower) and unless you cannot survive without 21st century technology 24/7 it is the perfect place to chill out and unwind. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the roof late into the night, sharing a bottle of wine as we watched the sun set and the stars appear.
We had a fantastic week and felt we had been transported back to the days of back-packing in Greece in the 1980's. Thank you Julien for letting us experience your wonderful retreat.

“Amazing stay at Robinson House”
Reviewed 29 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

My daughter and I have just returned from an amazing stay at Robinson House. It is located in a small village 1 minutes walk from the ocean where you can fish, swim or snorkel (for mask, snorkel and fins there is a Decathlon sports store near Santa Cruz which is only 15 mins drive away). You may even see some dolphins (we were fortunate).

The accommodation is simple but has all the basic amenities (no tv thank goodness) & the terrace is wonderful for just sitting and looking out onto the ocean (time can disappear very quickly). Looks exactly as per the photos.

There is a small supermarket in Tabaiba or a much larger department store (with food hall) in Santa Cruz (10 minutes drive away) called El Corte Ingles.

Tips - nearest town of Tabaiba is only a few minutes drive away and has a natural sea pool (free to use) and the bay is great for diving or snorkelling. Manolo restaurant by the pool serves great seafood and local dishes. Also Buddha Cafe (western food) open from 6pm is a nice little chill out bar.

Further afield you have Teide national park with stunning volcanic scenery (+ cable car or hike to summit) and Los Gigantes in the Southwest which runs whale and dolphin watching trips aswell as diving with turtles. These are just a few of the options available in Tenerife.

So if you want a haven away from the resorts to enjoy the natural elements and completely relax then look no further than Robinson House.
