“Boulevard made for a relaxing stroll”

Reviewed 18 February 2014

This long ramblas skirts around the city centre. Benches , kiosks , cafés and some modern art by Moore and Miro are shaded by tall trees. Lots to see on your walk , impressive houses and the old bullring included not to mentioned my favourite spot in Santa Cruz - the small but impressive Parque Sanabria - the ramblas is car free .

Never mind the name, the Rambla is a lovely lace to stroll. You happen across a Henry Moore on your way and several other fine works of street art. And if you visit in December they have planted hundreds of poinsettia to enjoy. Clean and well maintained : don't miss it

Time they renamed this Ramblas & stopped honouring a mass murderer. They are much longer than those in Barcelona & are very green and have a walkway between the dual carraige ways with sculpture and cafes along the way. The beautiful Parque Sanabria is half way along, the Plaza de Patos at one end and Playa de las Teresitas at the other as it encircles the city in this pleasant bourgoise green city.

Authentic Canarian City with lots of buzz. I have to type 100 characters but my view is summed up prior to this additional sentence!

This shady walk along the historic port side, has changed little in the last 100 years. The trees have grown, the traffic busier, the ships in the harbour larger. But the tranquility is unchanged. Close by are a number of bars, cafe's and restaurants. An ideal place to sit-a-while in the shade, either a rest before returning to the shops, or boarding a ferry or cruise ship. Lovely.
