We checked the ratings for restaurants near our accomodation (Le Petit Boutique- which was excellent)
This is a charming rustic pub...on our visit virtually empty.. This was our last meal before heading home so our expectations were high...My undertanding of Spainish is poor to terrible so take a fair blame.
Our waitress was polite but not exactly working hard at it!..We were offered an english menu and I asked about starters..which turned out to be tapas selections...We should of ordered off the last page of the menu...our fault my misunderstanding..
we were recommended local beer which was fine and enjoyable..
The tapas basically cheeses/meats/bread..I ordered the cod tortilla (which was a cod omlette)
for the two of us with drinks and deserts we spent 60 euros.. Itw asn't the meal we'd anticipated..
we moved inside after the mains having waited ages for the desert menu..deserts were very good
For us it was average

we were recommended this casa by our hotel and it was great. it was useful to be served by a lovely spanish girl who could speak English. we ordered the rib eye steak and the confit duck. both were very tasty. our daughter had the croquettes which were the best I had tasted.
the best bit was that the price of the food is very reasonable compared to the touristy places near the beach. quality better too.

We were recommended to try this restaurant by our hotel (Le Petit Boutique). We certainly would not have found it otherwise, as it is at the base of a block of flats at the end of a car park in the El Sardinero area. It was very busy both nights we ate there, which was during a local festival. On our first evening we were advised against over ordering, which was good advice! The food is fairly rustic Spanish - fried chorizo with peppers, croquettes, stuffed peppers in a cheese sauce, courgette omelette etc, but very tasty and hot. The house wine was also good. The restaurant had a good atmosphere, friendly staff (some spoke English) and seemed popular with families, couples, large groups of men and perhaps the occasional tourist like us.
