Nice little hotel about 4 miles out of santander, on a nice residential area, room we had was large clean with large shower and plenty of wardrobes etc and was a very good price compared with some of the city hotels. The staff were very helpful and some spoke good english, and pointed us in the right direction with things we wanted to see. The hotel was ideal for what we wanted to do, that was tour the area, there are some beautiful beachs about a mile away if you do not want to go into Santander for the beach.
The only down side is there is little to do in the area except use the hotel facilites which we did in the evening after touring all day.
Nice quiet hotel ideal for touring the area or as stopping over point for the ferry, would stop again.es

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the residential estate rather than car park

Although this is a functional hotel, in a building that lacks character, it has obviously been refurbished to a very good standard and is spotlessly clean. It's about 15 minutes drive from the ferry port, and fairly easy to find, though no thanks to the hotel's website which gives only the vaguest directions. It has lots of free parking, and also has free wifi. If, like me, you don't speak Spanish, you'll need a phrase book in the restaurant to make any sense of the waiter, who will steer you to accept the menu of the day (which is good value), although the restaurant has lots of other dishes if you don't want a big meal. For a really cheap breakfast,, don't go to the restaurant but eat at the bar with the locals - a chance to learn a few words of Spanish! There's also a very cheap supermarket next door to the hotel. Altogether, a good place to stay to or from the ferry.

We visited Santander by car on April 2011 as the summer had set in early. This hotel turned out to be amazing although a little out of the city (about 10 minute drive) However, the place was absolutely amazing, not mentioning the proximity to some beautiful coves on the Bay of Biscay!
Their business model must be something different as they have all that a 4 star hotel offers for the price of an ETAP hotel! I could not believe it, from attached bathroom with bathtub and ready hot water, easy chair and amazing room space to work desk and free wifi.
The only issue with the place was an all-pervading smell which was in the lobby. It was not a bad smell, just something like the cleaning agents used to clean the rooms. There is a bar/restaurant across the hotel building (I think run by the same management and acres of parking space for free! Will recommend...

I can reccomend this hotel. It offers a cheaper alternative to the very pricey hotels located in El Sardinero. It is located about 7km from El Sardinero but there is a very good bus service (the No. 2), the stop for which is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms are adequate, clean and comfortable. Had breakfast a couple of times, quite greasy but plenty of food. There is a very nice beach (Playa Juan de Canal) within a 30 minute walk of the hotel - although it is definitely not the 2km that they say it is. There are a couple of nice restaurants near to the bus stop that are worth a try. English speakers should bring a phrase book, the staff speak very little English.

Stayed for three nights in what was described as a superior room. Our room was on the 2nd floor which was like staying in an Attic room with the sloping roof line (not suitable for people over 1.5 metres tall) and only a Velux window for natural light.. The bathroom was similar with no view and with little headroom over the toilet. All rooms have twin beds, ours were uncomfortable and found the room generally depressing but clean. The reception and restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful but spoke little English. The hotel in my opinion has a below average 3 star rating and its location quite remote so a hire care is a must, the hotel is a good twenty minutes drive to the main beaches. I would recommend paying slightly more per night and opt for a 4 or 5 star hotel close to the excellent town and main beaches in Santander.
