The good things are on the title, and they include a very efficient and helpful staff and a superb location in the heart of Toledo's magnificent Old Town. However, the rooms and the breakfasts are not at par with a 4-star hotel.

Wonderful hotel. Good location parking. Nice breakfast. We enjoyed our stay. Very quiet except bird singing. Next door to elgreco museum. Close to Jewish quarter and ten minutes to cathedral. Very convenient for seeing Toledo. Friendly service.

Small rooms, lots of noise. Good location even though the town is small enough that you can walk almost anywhere no matter where you stay. Right next to the El Greco museum so they get a fair amount of foot traffic in the vicinity. Biggest plus is they have a parking garage!!!

Great city, nice hotel, clean comfortable and good location BUT we had requested a room with a view (as per the Rough Guide's suggestion) and were dismayed to arrive to discover our perfectly pleasant room had a window ten feet above the floor - more a cell than a bedroom. We asked for another room, and the somewhat surly receptionist huffed and puffed and found us another bedroom - it had windows you could see out of alright, straight into the bumper of a car at eye level parked on a street. We asked if there was another room - no, said the receptionist in a pretty taciturn way, but we might find you another one if you ask first thing tomorrow. So we phoned booking.com, and they tried for us - same response with an added comment that if we want to check out of the hotel we would be billed for the full amount. We were not treated as guests but as a nuisance. Oh and the room safe emitted a shrill noise until they sent a repair man, and the key cards kept on locking us out of the room. It is a sercotel hotel - obviously for big chains everything is too much bother, especially friendly service when things don't go to plan. If the receptionist had been sweet and graceful about our room we might have been happy, but she wasn't, and we weren't. Don't book it.

We stayed three nights in this hotel. It has been superbly renovated with stone and wooden beams to maintain the original Toledo style. Rooms are well appointed, bathroom very clean and modern. Centrally located to walk to all the museums, restaurants and the cathedral. The hotel itself is very quiet. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and again in a beautiful room, linen tablecloths and napkins. Easily accessible by car with underground parking right next door. Highly recommended

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast lounge has an amazing stone wall. The whole decoration is rich and classy. i couldn't stop taking pictures. They did a very good job preserving the old feeling of the house and turning it into a cool functional hotel. The breakfast was of very good quality (my kids loved having nuttella toast with hot chocolate).

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 December 2013

Stayed here 2 nights on family trip, had 2 rooms. The more expensive room had brick walls and wood beam ceilings which were lovely, however the room was dimly lit. There was no view from the small window. It looked over the building into basically an air shaft. The good news was there was no noise coming from the airshaft. The hotel walls had no soundproofing and we could clearly hear the people in the next room, as well as people in the downstairs restaurant. Additionally, the halls were noisy. The bathroom was cramped and worn (1980's). This room smelled of old grease, lilely from the restaurant. The other room had a more spacious bathroom which had been updated years ago. The room itself was not cramped. It had a sitting area which had brick walls and a beamed ceiling which was charming. This room was equally noisy from hotel sounds and also looked out into airshaft. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean.
There was no additional charge for breakfast. The food was not tasty as such, the second morning we ate somewhere else.
The front desk staff varied. Some were very helpful, others not as much.
This property is very well-located.
