“Good location, modern room, charming hotel grounds.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

Pros:
(1) LOCATION: located right next to El Greco museum (which is, by the way, surprisingly good); and a 10-min walk to the Cathedral; 15-min walk to the Alcazar; and about a 30-min walk to the other side of the river for some beautiful photographs.
(2) BEAUTIFUL SETTING: the interiors of the hotel are quaint and charming.
(3) The room was modern, nicely decorated and fully functioning.

Cons:
(1) We stayed in room 104, and the bed was only a double bed (not a King size). So big-size couple may not find it comfortable.
(2) While the receptionists were helpful and competent, we did not find them particularly welcoming or friendly. More genuine smiles and enthusiasm would have made this hotel an excellent one.
(3) Free wifi does not always work.

NB: On Sundays and Mondays, some restaurants and museums in Toledo are closed, so make sure you find out the opening times of the places you want to see so that you are not disappointed. Also make sure you have good walking shoes and, if you have weak knees, knee-supports, because Toledo is very hilly with lots of walking up and down hills.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 104 and had a double bed (not a King Size), not sure if this is the same for other...

This hotel is located just next to El Greco's museum, near the town's centre. There are many nice restaurants around and the historic Jewish quarter is just around the corner, as well as the view of the river Tajo. The architecture of the hotel is loyal to it's traditional roots, with exposed brick and Moorish tiles in bathrooms and hallways. It really captures the atmosphere of traditional Spanish towns, warm, simple, and in good taste. Our room was spacious, clean, wonderfully decorated, with nice bathroom. No terrace. Amenities were very good, a nice TV and enough space for storing clothes and bags. Beds were very comfortable, and the air conditioning was good. Breakfast was very good, nice choice of all kinds of breakfast food. The hotel offers garage parking, which is recommendable, despite higher price, since parking in Toledo is scarce. The staff was wonderful, especially the gentleman who worked in night shift (didn't catch his name), who went above and beyond to help us with everything. They give good advice on things to see, where to eat, prices, where to park, etc. Our room was in the back part of the building, so it was very quiet. However, this part of Toledo isn't noisy, so any room is recommendable. The only downside were the fact that our room's window was facing in inner skylight/atrium, so there wasn't much air flowing in, and that wi-fi was sketchy. Rooms that are on the street or lateral side don't have this problem. I enjoyed this hotel very much and would come again.

I had a triple room and it was large, comfy, clean, great decor, nice bath and all amenities. Front desk staff was really firendly and useful. Breakfast wasn't fantastic but still suitable for us with cold and cooked food desipte there wasn't so much choices ... Hotel is located inside Toledo (next to Jewish quarter) and therefore a great point to explore the town by foot. The building is a 17th century house and the interior is very elegant with a mix of modern and "Dudejar" style. Free and fair wifi. They have private parking and seemed to be the best option despite the price (18 € / day). Now the only minus ... the Bar only opens in the weekend ... we were there in July (high season in Toledo ...?) and it seemed very strange that it was closed during the business days ... even more unusual because there was advertising everywhere highlighting the Gin's, the terrace, etc ...

We really loved the Pintor el Greco, very nice. The decor and paintings about the hotel are just lovely, I really would have liked to have some of them.

Great room and good bathroom, although twin sinks would have been nice. Safe & mini bar and everything clean as it should be. Good wifi.

Lovely hot and cold breakfast, no complaints at all. Good underground car park but pre-book.

Good location but you do need to be reasonably fit to walk the city hills.

This is our second visit to Toledo and we will go back as we love the place.

We did the city bus tour and paid for the full day, hop on and off , but actually did not get time to get on again, just the one trip would have done us. We thought that the little tourist train tour was much nicer, we did that on our last visit.

Go to The Greco Museum, next door and very good also free !!....

Room Tip: quiet room away from the street

I stay at the Hotel Pintor El Greco Sercotel for only one night, and it already amazed me.
It is a beautiful hotel, with spacious rooms and the staff is lovely.
Nothing is too far away in Toledo, and from the Hotel we were able to walk all over the city, without the need of a car or a bus.
It is located in a lovely area, and you`ll find small restaurants really close to the hotel.
If you`re travelling by car as I was, the fact that the hotel has a parking is a plus, you won`t find many parking spaces inside the city, so it was great because we had the oportunity to park our car at the hotel while walking around the city.
If you`re thinking about staying don`t hesitate and enjoy Toledo, it is an amazing place with beautiful views.

A friend and I stayed here last week and enjoyed it. The service was wonderful, and the room and hotel were spotless. The wifi worked well in the lobby, and usually worked in the room. It is in the Jewish quarter with several restaurants and shops nearby. The taxi ride from the train station is around €6.50.

Navigating the maze of streets in old towns like Toledo can be ulcer-inducing if you have a car. This hotel sits on the edge of the old town, which makes it easy to find if you are driving, but also puts you within walking distance of all the sights (the El Grego museum and synagogues are right next door). There is an underground parking lot right next door. Inside, the hotel's public space and rooms are nicely decorated, and there is a good array of food choices at breakfast. We were offered the chance to upgrade our room to one on the top floor, with a jacuzzi and lovely views of the town and its surroundings. A little pricey, but worth it.
