“Good bang for the buck.”
Reviewed 13 November 2013 via mobile

By bangs, I mean get used to hearing them. From the street or the marble floors, or peoples doors. The walls are thin, but the beds are decent. The breakfast was fine, use the left side coffee machine, the nescafe one. Staff helpful, rooftop deck was nice.

Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper or drimk more wine.

This hotel is an ideal base if you want to explore Toledao. It's in the centre of the historic city. The rooms are very good, the service is excellent. I enjoyed much the breakfast in an arabic style restaurant. Furthermore, the breakfast was delicious and you can choose between a great variety. I only suggest to repair some walls and wardrobes in the rooms as they show abandonned.
All in all it was a very good experience and I'll definitelly return.

Situated write opposite the Alcazar the Carlos V is set in a great position. It has comfortable rooms, serves a good buffet breakfast and is close to lots of excellent restaurants & tapas bars.
Don`t forget to take a bottle of wine up to the rooftop terrace and admire the wonderful view.
Toledo is simply stunning and the Carlos V will serve you well.

We have just returned from an excellent weekend holiday in Toledo where we stayed at the Carlos V hotel. We couldn't find fault with the hotel; the room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, the marble clad bathroom had a big shower with toiletries provided and the cot we requested was made up ready for our daughter on arrival. The staff were friendly and helpful and made a fuss of our daughter.
The breakfast was excellent with all sorts on offer including cereals, fruit, yoghurts, pastries, meats and cheeses and yummy cakes. As others have said before the coffee wasn't the best I've had but it was easily drinkable.
The best thing about the hotel though and the reason I chose to stay here was its location about 50 metres from the Alcazar, 500 metres from the main square and a five minute walk from the Cathedral area and the exceptional views from the roof terrace. I witnessed a beautiful sunset on our 1st nights stay and managed to take great photos at different parts of the day as the city unfolded below.
I think this hotel was great value and provided a great base for our exploration of a wonderful city.

Room Tip: It may be wise to choose a room away from the front of the hotel due to noise from the nearby restau...

Ideally located in the city of Toledo. Carlos V was neat, tidy, clean and welcoming. Breakfast was standard to good, the rooms varied in size but were clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi accessible from most rooms as well as from the lobby. Located within a moments walk of the square in Toleda, Carlos V is perfectly for exploring the city of toledo, and further.

Nice atmospheric terrace on the 5th floor, but not open enough. This may have been down to the time of season (Oct 2013). A bit of noise as expected by a central hotel but nothing too disturbing. Recommended

The Carlos V. hotel in Toledo is ideally located for all the things that bring tourists to this city. Arriving by car can be a problem and train/taxi is the best. The hotel is at the top of the city and is very welcoming. The attraction is the roof top terrace bar with terrific views of the city, but visitors should be aware that it is only open during good weather. The rooms are adequate and well maintained, the food is average, best meal we had was breakfast. There is a problem when the weather is poor as there are limited arrangements for a drink and socializing, but the bars in the city close by are plentiful and welcoming. The dining room is in the basement but is light and recently decorated in a Moorish style. One attraction is the little train from a nearby square for a ride outside the city walls and great views, the Cathedral is not to be missed.

Room Tip: Higher floors with south facing for the best views.

Good hotel, excellent roof terrace, shame about coffee at breakfast.
Stayed with a group of friends. We stayed in all sort of rooms, single, double and premium.
Rooms were nice and clean. Though we recommend not staying very close to the lifts as it can get noisy because of some inconsiderate guests.
The roof terrace has been recently upgraded with a bar serving lunch until 4pm and drinks until 1am. Very reasonably priced. Owned by El Locum chef Víctor Sánchez-Beato Gómez.
The location is superb, in the old town and next to Alcazar and Army Museum.
The receptionists were helpful, courteous and had good knowledge of the town and its services.
Pity that breakfast did not have a proper good coffee - even filter coffee would do than that horrible machine.
