“Amazing Monastery”
Reviewed 2 August 2012

Three friends and myself visited the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes in June 2011 and found it very interesting. The outside of the building was absolutely amazing.

“Impressive late Gothic ensemble”
Reviewed 18 July 2012

Go here for the architecture! This is late Gothic, from the 16th c., and the abbey church has an immense space under vaults with intricate patterns. The adorments are very refined. You also visit the cloisters, with vaults and late-Gothic arches surrounding a garden. The visit doesn´t take long, but is definitely worth it for fans of Gothic architecture.

“Interesting Features”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

I wasn't sure whether it was worth visiting this place but was glad that we did. The main Church part was interesting and I enjoyed walking around the cloisters with some interesting Gothic features.

“Another quiet place in Toledo”
Reviewed 27 June 2012

I was lucky and there were only 6 others with me for a while. The church is modest but very interesting. The upper walkways are ideal for shots of the inner courtyard.

“The beauty is in the detail”
Reviewed 4 June 2012

As stated by an earlier reviewer, this is a small attraction and can be covered in 45min. Never-the-less, it is well worth the admission price, and the fairly long walk over from Zocodover Square. It is a place where you need to look carefully at the detail and then you will see some really exquisite masonry and carvings. One can only marvel at the intricate detail and the amount of work that must have gone into these carvings. Also amazing is the marquetry ceiling in the galleries around the cloisters. Definitely a place of quality rather than quantity..
