Stayed at this hotel in late September, 2013. The place was quiet and clean and the staff was helpful when called upon. Sleep was comfortable. The view of Toledo from the room would be tough to beat.
Breakfast was average and we did not eat any other meals at the hotel. Pool available. The hotel is too far from the old city to walk (probably .5 hrs walk). Taxi to the old city was about 6-7 Euros for our group of 4. Taxi to train station is about 7 to 8 Euros. If the opportunity arose, I would stay there again.

We could not believe the rate we found for this hotel. We only stayed one night...we should have stayed two: the hotel is really great. We chose a room with a view on the city... It was a stunning view. I was happy with the swimming pool which also offered the view on Toledo. In Toledo there is so much to see and do. The hotel is not in the heart of the center, but by foot it takes about 15 minutes to reach the historic center. The room we get not only offered a nice view, but it was a spacious room with a great kingsize bed. The bathoom offered a shower and a separate bath! This was a top hotel! Only negative thing: no sport center/fitness.

Room Tip: pay for the rooms with the view over the city

I stayed at the Cigarral el Bosque for 2 nights in September. This was my second visit to Toledo and my second visit to this hotel. I really like the location, although not within walking distance of the town, it has a great view of the entire old town of Toledo and is especially beautiful at night. The room was clean however the hotel was not in the same state of repair as it was the last time I visited it 4 years ago. The walls had scuff marks and chipped paint both in the room and washroom. And the room door hung unevenly so that it scraped on the floor when you opened it and didn’t open all the way. The hotel staff was not overly friendly or helpful and when we went to the restaurant to have lunch, there was no one there, even though they were open. Also, the hotel hallways were pretty dark and many were blocked off by curtains, not sure why. There is a small pool that also looks onto the old town and parking is free which is nice but I don’t think I will return again. I think the hotel is in need of a reno.

Location is about a realistic 30 min walk from city centre. However taxis are easily arranged and cost 5 or 6 euros. Hotel well designed, well kept and really comfortable, all with views over Toledo.
Pool a godsend when v hot. Nice little bar and seating area at pool. Breakfast above average. Hotel a bit quiet when we were there (midweek) Would go again and recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms seem similar

We had stayed at the Parador in Toledo before and thought it very good. Although relatively modern, it had a position on the hill over the river overlooking the old city...spectacular. We wanted to visit Toledo again, but the Paradors have now become prohibitively expensive.

The Cigarral el Bosque was the result, same side of the river, also elevated, same view from a different angle. You have to find it, however and must remember not to cross a bridge into the city, but rather traverse the city on a kind of 'ring road'. And watch for lots of 'Cigarral' titles on signs - it appears to be a very common name.

The Bosque is - like many Paradors - an old building, but this one has been extensively added to, with a fan-shaped semi-circular building so that every room has a city view. They are connected to the original building by air conditioned walkways, which is a good idea. Car parking is plentiful but not secure particularly - a problem when you are driving a big 4x4 full of stuff destined for a house in south-west Spain.

The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large and well-equipped although like Paradors - and many more traditional hotels in Spain - they don't offer tea/coffee making facilities. Wi-fi is a little spasmodic, but free, so the big hotel chains should once again take note, that it is immoral to rip off guests with a fee for wi-fi.

There is a cafe, one storey down (the hotel is on a hillside) and a restaurant two floors down, with excellent food but a little stiff and formal, as are many Spanish hotels. Prices are a little steep, but it is after all, a tourist area and the room cost was much lower than the neighbouring Parador. An excellent pool with a pool bar is located in the grounds.

If there is a failing with the hotel it is that it is a little too formal, slightly austere, but that is not a major criticism. It would not take much tweaking to make this a five-star.

Room Tip: They all have great views, so there are none better than the others.

Nice hotel, beautiful reception area but hallways and rooms average. The staff were friendly and gave advice about attractions and restaurants.

However it is about 10 minutes by Taxi to town centre which is not clear on their website.

Restaurant and cafe very expensive.

We got a very good deal as we were travelling out of season. Hotel was very quiet.

Exits not clearly marked other than exiting through reception and walking down the hill
