We loves this small hotel in the center of Burgos.

We were walking part of the Camino de Santiago, and all the hostels and albergues were full a we arrived in Burgos, so we stayed here. We were actually offered a very generous pilgrims discount.

The rooms here are small, and we had to book two rooms for our party of 3!

The setting is comfortable and authentic. Photoelectric is situated in the heart of beautiful Burgos. From here you can explore the whole city, the night life, shopping and the cathedral.

Staff was very helpful- they went above and beyond to help us catch a train to San Sebastián.

Loved it and would consider staying right here when we go back to Burgos.

3 of us stayed at this hotel for 3 nights end of Aug 2013 and were delighted with the service of the receptionist Almudena. She spoke perfect English and was so helpful. We are walking the Camino and needed a respite while watching our budget. She offered us a room for 3 in the pension across from the hotel for 15euro each a night. We took it and ended up staying an extra night (originally planning for 2). We paid 3euro each for the breakfast which consisted of orange juice, fresh tea and coffee (and we asked and got refills), sweet cakes and croissants, butter and jams, fresh bread with a toaster (really enjoyed that) and as much as we wanted. The hotel is situated in the heart of old town Burgos on Calle San Juan so it was very easy to find our way around the streets and plazas. But Almudena was an excellent representative for this hotel. She could not do more for us.

Very small dark room. Only window to light/air shaft on first floor. Room on ground floor have even less light. Breakfast very small. Waiter first refused to serve refill of coffee and tea arguing that breakfast only includes 1 cup, which is already a very small one. At times staffing at reception is very short with one person who also has to attend to breakfast guests. Noise protection is bad; you hear from your room everything going on the corridor due to wooden floor.

I cycling the Camino, I can confirm that this place has space for bikes.

Not a bad hotel, simple and functional with an average breakfast. Room was comfy and quiet.

We paid around €40 for the room which we felt fair.

By check-out they demanded 8% more because of credit card payment and the invoice. Without invoice and cash payment without any confirmation price was lower. The hotel is closed overnight, I had a problem to leave the hotel at 7.30am because the reception man was sleeping (snoring) and there was no chance to pay and leave the place. Dog was barking in next room all night.

Stayed here one night in August 2011. No complaints about the room and bed: very clean and comfortable. But beware of the manager. Didn't like his 'non-communication' style.

We asked for the pelgrims rate as announced on a sign opposite the hotel. Manager told us something that later proved to be the normal price. Price was given without notifying that a breakfast was included. When paying the bill it turned out that VAT was not included.

We found it very hard to find even with our sat nav and finding the carpark was a challenge. Having said all that we were more than pleasantly surprised with our accommodation. It was only a 5 minute walk from the Cathedral and great restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Don't forget to enjoy a Don Carlos 1 Brandy served up in a warmed glass at the end of the day!
