“A comfortable and welcoming haven”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

We spent two nights here on the way north to Bilbao and found the hotel extremely comfortable and convenient with friendly and helpful staff who speak very adequate English. We asked for a room with a double bed and were given a spacious room with a large bathroom and easy chairs, desk etcetera. The air conditioning was very effective, the sheets were crisp and cool and the breakfast was a bargain at eight euros including a range of choices from cooked to pastries to fresh fruit. It was a short and pleasant walk over the Puente Romano to the historical centre of Salamanca. The cathedral is an absolute highlight, free entry but make sure you use the two euro audio guide, one of the best I've experienced. The city comes to life at night with many restaurants and bars and lots of potential for crowd watching. After a hot day sightseeing, it was magic to return to the hotel for a cool swim. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a double bed, a double room will often be a room with two beds.

I start from sentence that the hotel was not so bad. Probably it has four stars due to small swimming pool. The hotel was tidy and a bit old-fashioned. It has private parking that was important for me (my car was full of stuff). The hotel also in located in very walking distance to the old town (15 minutes with family walk). The bed was ok and we all slept well. Bathroom was also well enough for the standard it offers. What was not good - the location of my room with the view to small gas station. Problem was not about this view, but about the noise of the cars on the street that I could hear quite clearly in the room (the windows and sun blinds closed!). The overall relation of quality to the price is good. Me and my family were happy to stay here.

Some 18 months ago we visited Salamanca and as we had visited whilst their Fiesta was on ( September) we wanted to return when it was not so busy and as we had enjoyed Puento Romano previously, we decided to book in yet again.

It´s literally a walk over the cobbled Roman bridge into the old city of Salamanca so it´s location is perfect. The staff are all exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are quite spacious and the one we were given had a small balcony. There is a garage however there is ample parking close by, so we had no need of it. Good sized toiletries were in the room and the mini bar prices were not extortinate.

The buffet breakfast was plentiful and the room cheery with it´s yellow walls and draperies. Just the right feeling at the start of the day to enjoy the wonderful sights of Salamanca.

Room Tip: The balcony room we were given was excellent.

I would generally recommend this hotel. As an overview, It offers excellent site location and good customer support. Moderate buffet breakfast, but enjoyable. Regarding to the room and services, it shows moderate/high performances, acceptable open spaces and commodities, from my point.

Very well positioned just over the Roman Bridge from the Old City and short taxi ride from main station.Comfortable and spacious rooms and very helpful staff. Too cold to use the pool and terrace but would be an asset in the hot weather.

A really good hotel to use just a short walk over the Roman Bridge to the delightful sights of Salamanca. We often use this hotel as an overnight stop off on a journey between Santander and the Algarve. It has a secure car park (additional charge), the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Great Hotel in a good position, just near the Roman bridge, although it is a steep walk up to the old town. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. The rooms are a good size and have free WiFi. Main train station is a 15 min bus ride away.
