“Surprising find in Salamanca”
Reviewed 10 August 2012

Great museum! Building dates from the late 19th century, and the owner, likely very eccentric, was huge collector of art deco. Great views of the river Tormes. Check out the terrace for a drink and tapas around sunset.

“Nice building, exhibition a bit disappointing”
Reviewed 9 August 2012

We were charmed by the light construction of the building, with wonderful coloured glass windows/ceiling. The collection of puppets, little statues and other artifacts was less attractive to us.

“Do not miss”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

The building dates from the first decade of the 20th Century with stained glass roof and balconies providing a fantastic setting for the exhibits. The exhibits are well displayed with labels in English (a rarity in Spain!).
The shop is excellent and very well stocked with items from a couple of euros up to thousands for new Galle or Lallique, worth a visit on its own.
Do avoid the nearby Civil War Museum, the coverage of one of the most important events of the 20th century is extremely poor. Entrance is free so could be useful shelter when it rains - the only reason I can see to visit.

“Art Nouveau at its best”
Reviewed 7 July 2012

A true gem, a Modernista iron cast and glass house full of light and colour. From a Faberge egg to a Gallé lamp, the museum has at least one item of every creative expression of Art Nouveau design. The collection of dolls is remarkable, yet the most fascinating items are the delicate dancing figurines and automata. The elegant Café and Museum Shop round out a unique experience of elegance and charm.
