“Authentic Mexican food and beer, CHEAP!”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

Have wanted to this place to open up again for over a year due to the owners having a near fatal car accident that nearly made them close it. But now they are back and in full swing, the food is great, really authentic mexican and even have real mexican beers on tap. Nachos are awesome and the chipotle sauce is seriously tasty and has a kick. In the heart on van dyck this place is better than the other two mexicans in salamanca for sure, especially as they put real cheese on their nachos, not just cheese sauce...Plus the owner/barman is a nice guy and doesn't mind if you wear the massive sombreros he has there. All round nice people and good

“Average mexcican food”
Reviewed 11 November 2012

After reading the reviews about the Mexican food here we expected good things. In the end the food was just ok, nothing specially. It was good food typical that did remind us of mexico but the tacos, margaritas and michalada we had were just average.

“great option for non-Spanish tapas”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

This is a fairly new Mexican-style bar with tapas. It's not very traditional, but tasty all the same. If you're craving some guacamole in Salamanca, this is the place. The very friendly owner is Basque and his Mexican wife handles the kitchen. Definitely stop in if you're on Van Dyck and craving something besides the usual tapas.

“Best Mexican food in Spain”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

I am living in Madrid and went to Salamanca for the weekend. I have to say that this is the best Mexican food I have eaten in Spain. Fantastic nachos and tacos and a very good relation between price and quality!

“Mexican delight in Old Spain”
Reviewed 23 November 2011

Once along time ago we found one of the best German restaurants in many a country including Germany in, of all places, Chaing Mai, Thailand. Now another best...Mexican food in Salamanca at a little hole in the wall on Calle Van Dyke.Cantina Pico de Gallo...Wine is from their own vineyard, food is prepared when ordered and fresh!!! Had a "Volcan" corn tortilla with meat, cheese, and sauce..YUM!! We have had Mexican all over the world and this little place ranks right up there. But anywhere on Van Dyke is generally pretty good. If the place is packed it is worth the stop..tapas,wine, beer etc, etc. Very few if any tourists here and that makes it special. Try out the food, the wine, and your Spanish or sign language if necessary..Van Dyke is walking distance from the old town so not a problem, safe, clean and colorful.
