Salamanca is a great city and Hotel Rector is a perfect way to enjoy it. DH and I were there for 2 nights in May and we were wowed by the friendliness of the staff. By the time we left, Silvia seemed like an old friend and the entire staff did everything they could to make our stay a pleasant one. Our superior double room overlooked the street and old wall, but noise was not an issue. The room was quite comfortable and spacious. Great marble bath with all the amenities. The walk to the old town is rather steep for those with mobility issues, but great exercise for us. Highly recommend this boutique hotel as well as a stay in beautiful Salamanca!

This is a lovely hotel by any criterion. It is very nicely located -- just outside the city walls, but an easy walk to the city center and the Roman bridge. The room was lovely, with a beautiful bathroom and attractive (if traditional) furnishings. The bathrooms amenities were Bvlgari and the terry bathrobe was very thick. The breakfast room is lovely and the breakfast was very nice. Our room was dead quiet, too.

There is parking, but it is limited, so reserve in advance. We didn't, but they squeezed us in.

Hotel is on an inner ring road by the city walls. It is an old building but the service levels are high.
No restaurant, but the receptionists suggestions of a modern Tapas restaurant about 8 minutes walk away was taken up and much enjoyed. A walk to the main square and cathedral takes about 8 to 10 minutes at a normal pace. Parking at the hotel is at the rear in a protected car park, part of the building. When you park you are walked through to reception. Parking is tricky and they will drive your car out when you leave if you require it. There is a bar and a breakfast room.
Rooms are well appointed and bathrooms very well equipped.

Room Tip: we asked for a quiet room away from the road. It had no view but was very quiet!

This is an elegant small hotel which is family run. It is an old building but with all modern requirements. it is next to the city walls and only 4 mins walk from main square. The breakfasts are a delightful array of fruits and pastries artistically arranged.and all cooked food to order. The hotel does not do evening meals but there are plenty of good restaurants near by.The staff are friendly and very helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms at back are very quiet

My husband and I began our recent trip to Spain at the wonderful Hotel Rector. This hotel set the gold standard for the rest of our holiday. Located immediately outside the historic centre of Salamanca and within a very short walk of the Puente Romano the Hotel Rector is in an ideal location for exploring this beautiful city. Our deluxe room was spacious, inviting and, although facing the road, very quiet. The staff was excellent. For an extra cost there is secure parking adjacent to the hotel. I hope that we have an opportunity to return to Salamanca in the future and, if so, we will definitely stay at the Hotel Rector.

This hotel was one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. Teresa, at the front desk was just amazing. Her knowledge of her city was perfect. She pointed us to two wonderful places to eat for lunch and dinner, and the best places to see with our limited time. I was offered a beautiful basketfull of gluten free breads for breakfast, and eggs were cooked to order to perfection! Wish we could have spent more time here.

Salamanca is a fascinating city - where Toquemada did all his "best" work during the Inquisition! And Hotel Rector is brilliantly placed for visitors to see the very best that this lovely city has to offer architecturally, culturally and academically. How many places face ancient city walls but adjoin a car museum?

The staff were delightful, the rooms generously sized with a bathroom that would comfortably have hosted a small cocktail party if we had known enough Salamancans to invite.

The best breakfast of the trip, fruit kebabs, huge strawberries, freshly squeezed orange juice and wonderful, wonderful coffee. No restaurant but staff ready with advice for your evening meal.

A wide ranging and useful library of books in keeping with this city's academic tradition.
