Imagine yourself in a place where all your needs are anticapated and met instaneously! This is the Hotel Rector. From the minute you enter the luxurious and welcoming lobby you feel comfortable and at home. The staff is attentive without being overbearing. The rooms are well appointed, well maintained and quite unique. I could have spent my entire vacation in this hotel but unfortunately the Spain country side did call. My family and I loved the Hotel Rector and you will too!

This hotel is a real gem. It is a classy place to stay, the rooms, lobby, and breakfast room are wonderful. Also Julien, the manager was a great help in suggesting a dinner place (The Silver River..excellent) and he helped in rescheduling a flight we had to change. The location was close to all the sights and parking was available in the garage in the back of the hotel. In all, this was a perfect place to stay.

We stayed in the Hotel Rector 5 years ago and didn´t forget how wonderful it was. So on a trip this year, we stayed there again. Everything about this hotel is perfect---the room, the location, the free access to internet, all the art books and comfortable places to sit and look at the books, the breakfast, fresh flowers. The people at the desk are exceediingly friendly, helpful.

This hotel was so nice to stay in. Beautifully appointed, spacious and quiet. The staff are impecable in their service. The breakfast was was kind of high, 12 euros, but so worth it. Eggs cooked to your standard, very fresh orange juice with linen doilies. Lovely pastries, yummy yogurt in glass jars and plenty of fruit and homemade breads. When we were ushered to our room, I saw that it faced the street and was immediately disapppointed since I had requested a quiet room. But there were thick, double windows that completely shut out any traffic noise and heavy blackout curtains as well. The stay included robes and slippers. The walk up to the cathedral was a bit of a climb but not too bad. If you are driving, they have free parking right in front of the hotel. The hotel is close to the Rio Tormes and near an ancient Roman bridge. Great place to spoil yourself!

Returning to the city after 40 years, this delightful hotel showed that Salamanca had indeed changed but only for the better. The staff could not have been more helpful whether it was looking up a long forgotten restaurant in Yellow Pages or finding a shop to buy that special memento. Thanks to Nicola at Lemon Valley for finding it for us.
