Its a Parador, beautiful rooms but aged somewhat. Loved the space. Bathroom really nice. Only complaint was the beds were pretty hard. The views are great. Path to salamanca over the bridge was good. We did make a new friend. Lost female dog was wanting to come home with us. Stopped him at the gate. An hour later she still there. Probably hungry.

Room Tip: try for a view of the city over the bridge.

This Parador is in a modern building. We must admit, we do appreciate the Paradors which have conserved buildings of historic significance, so initially it was disappointing to find this hotel in a modern building in such a significant historical city. Having said this, the hotel offers appealing décor, our room was larger than usual with an excellent bathroom and the extra thoughtful additions that we are used to in the Parador chain. The public areas offer comfortable places for sitting. The restaurants were excellent both for lunch and breakfast. The hotel has a fantastic view of Salamanca, and sitting in the breakfast room looking at this view was memorable. The hotel is also in a good position, as it is an easy walk into the old city centre, or, if weary, a short taxi ride. Our only negative comment would be about some staff, especially at the front desk, where individuals could barely raise their eyes from their computer screen to check us in. Yet other staff, especially in the breakfast and lunch restaurants, were excellent.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Salamanca will have a beautiful view of the city.

Pro’s:
Great location for view and walk over bridge to old city. Full service hotel. Free above ground parking & WiFi. Restaurants very good; prices not too high for quality of hotel. Lighter meals served in bar. Easy drive to locate. Most of staff speaks some English. Couple of English TV channels. Clean property throughout with very good maid service. Quiet location away from traffic. Good value and comfort for price. Salamanca great ancient city to visit with much history, sites, and small old town streets to explore. No problem locating places to eat in city, especially near Plaza Mayor. Good stay and we would return to Salamanca and stay at Parador.
Cons:
In room seating not great. Prefer sofa or comfortable chair(s). No in-room coffee maker or micro. Euro twin beds in lieu of double/queen/king bed. Fairy typical for Euro hotels.

Room Tip: Select a room facing old town for really spectacular views at night. Taxi stand adjacent to Plaza Ma...

Stayed here one night en route from UK to southern Spain. Wished we had made time to stay longer! Easy to locate and warm welcome. Good secure underground parking. We paid for room facing old town and wow what a view, especially in evening, as the sun set. Definitely worth the added cost. Big room with large bathroom. Fantastic wifi reception (unusual in our experience of such hotels). Easy directions to walk down terrace across old Roman bridge and straight into heart of old town. Cathedral and environs well worth the visit. Lots of lovely tapas bars and restaurants. Breakfast buffet catered for variety of preferences and great views of town. Definitely would recommend staying here, especially if you have a car.

I had an extra night in Salamanca after spending a week in another hotel in the heart of the town, and passed it here with a friend. Although one of the few modern Parador hotels, this works as it gives a feeling of being designed to counter and complement the ancient town that it opposes. The modern exterior seems a bit like the MI5 building from a distance, but up close is open and welcoming, making the best of those views. The restaurant and cafe areas are pleasant and well laid out, all very relaxed, but the downstairs function rooms and terraces are the icing on the cake with the views changing with the light across the day. I had my wedding here a few years ago, and at first considered that the site on the other side of the river from the ancient center would be a pain, but quite the opposite; this is the best place to appreciate the beauty of Salamanca from, and on the short walk in to town over the roman bridge, you can contemplate just how much of the world has changed since it was built, while the best bits of Salamanca, from the bridge to the cathedrals, university and the quite incredible main square have remained as their designers intended, perfect.

Room Tip: Ask to face the city, no need for either a TV or wifi in these ones although they are there.

Certainly not a historic or old but beautifully renovated building, but more a good clean and functional hotel. We drove into Salamanca so again we're looking for some easy access with the car, parking and also easy access to get into the old town.
This place offers all that. It is just across the river and an easy 10 minute walk into the old town.
Nice clean and simply furnished rooms and free car parking in the large lot out front. You can park in their garage for 20 euro but no need.
We didn't eat or even have a drink at the hotel, as the town centre is the place to be for all of this. ( and what another great example of how the Spanish do eating and drinking sooooo well).
This hotel met its brief perfectly for us.
Suggest stop at the bar on the corner just as you have crossed the bridge over the river on the way back to the hotel. The locals are friendly, entertaining and love their football

Room Tip: 20 euro a night over standard room gives you a view of the town and the cathedral

The view on Salamanca from the hotel is the hotel's biggest asset. In addition to the view the hotel has the good solid Parador quality. Wifi was good. Service was ok. The gym is old and small so forget about using the gym. The café is a bit of a disappointment as it lack a nice atmosphere. There is not really a nice place to have a drink. It is quite a walk to the city but it is a nice walk. It only makes sense to get a room with a view. You will pay 15 euro extra. But without the view you may as well take a hotel in the city center.
