“It's a bridge...”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

Nice Roman bridge, with an ancient celtic dog sculpture standing guard. Nice for a walk, but nothing spectacular.

“Heavily Rehabilitated, but You Get the Idea”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

The bridge is just to the left of my flat. I finally took a stroll along the bridge, admiring the Roman engineering and the Rio Duero below. For photographers, it's probably best to go down among the folks fishing or running their dogs. There also is an amazing preromano bull (sans head) guarding the bridge that is worth a look.

“A breath of fresh air”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

Like the automobile museum, the bridge comes as a relief after all the ecclesiastical and academic baroque and gothic stuff in the middle of Salamanca. Walk across, breathe the air, feel the freedom, look down at what remains of the river, and examine the intriguing prehistoric 'verraco'…

“Great place for a morning stroll”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We went out for an early morning walk along the river by the Roman bridge and discovered that it is the centerpiece of a riverside park and trail network. The bridge itself was great (we are fans of all things Roman), but joining the locals for their morning constitutionals and jogs was enjoyable in and of itself.
