I stayed in this hotel in September 2009 and i must say it was perfect. Super clean and modern. Perfect location right next to the cathedral. It might be a little tricky to get there by car but once you have made it this hotel is perfect !
I took a room facing the back because i was not sure wether the church bells would wake me up. I received an upgrade to a bigger room and that was huge. Very modern and clean. I can highly recommend staying there !!!

This is a very nice chain of hotels. I got one of the worst rooms at $90 plus tax. It was a pretty nice room, just close to the lobby and if there is a big party it can be noisy. Lots of towels, very clean, with a refrigerator and nice TV. Breakfast was included and it was huge with great real espresso coffee. The hotel has parking but they told us to go park at the public parking, so it might have been full. That is a problem in all Spanish cities and even some small towns, no parking!!! I noticed they have minimized the amount of amenities, but they still give you all the necessary shampoo, soap and hand cream. Salamanca is just fantastic.

We loved the location and stylish modern elegance of the Puerta de la Cathedral which is alongside the main cathedral in town with many of the rooms overlooking it. As such it's a very lovely place to stay in this marvelous city. Rooms are spacious and evoke the best of boutique hotels in our native NYC. Only complaint, and not the hotel's fault, is that Salamanca is a university town and as such filled with all night revelers. Can't comment on restaurant as we didn't try it. Parking is very convenient and safe (locked garage next to hotel).

This hotel sits directly behind the Cathedral on a quiet plaza and is within walking distance to everything in the center of town. The hotel is small, chic and well run. Our room had a FANTASTIC view of the Cathedral, which I loved.

The Puerta de la Catedral is a clean, modern hotel in an excellent location close to the cathedral in old Salamanca. The beds were very comfortable and our room had an attractive, modern bathroom. We didn't have a cathedral view - in fact we looked out over somebody's onion patch - but this didn't detract from our stay in any way.

The receptionist was very friendly and efficient, both during arrival and departure. There is quite a large underground car park, although the entrance is a little difficult to find. It's also quite a narrow entrance and there's not a lot of space to manoeuvre once you're inside. We managed with a saloon car, but guests with a large vehicle, such as a people carrier, might have difficulty and should take advice from the hotel before attempting it.

We didn't eat dinner in the hotel, but the breakfast was excellent: fresh fruit (strawberries, melon, watermelon, pineapple, oranges, grapefruit); cheese; ham; nice bread; tortilla española; cakes; doughnuts; cereals etc. And a large jug of coffee and one of hot milk, sufficient for three cups of cafe con leche each. Breakfast is served until midday on Sundays.

In this hotel you are very close to all the main sights of Salamanca, and especially at this time of year, the storks nesting on all the beautiful buildings. A long weekend here is to be recommended.
