We arrived in Salamanca late on a Sunday morning on the train from Madrid and urgently need somewhere for lunch. Our hotel reception (Melia Las Claras) recommended this place and we were not disappointed.
At 1.30pm we were feeling very lonely as the restaurant was empty but by 2.30pm the place was solid and filled by mainly local families, always a good sign.
We had the 'menu del dia' which was excellent value at Euros 15 each. There was a long list of tasty starters and for the main course we had a delicious plate of suckling pig. As well as a perfect 'flan' the deal included a bottle of the local wine which was excellent.
