“Fine for a 'Hostal' but not for the infirm”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

It's very central, just a little up the hill from the spectacular Roman aqueduct. Good, light room with quiet effective air conditioning.

No lift and a bit up hill from the centre (but then Segovia is all hilly)

Bed not very comfortable and the hostal was for some reason very noisy - bring earplugs

If you're driving the parking garage is very tight - no space to manoeuvre and there are some narrow streets and tight turns to get to it.

Breakfast very basic - toast, jam, juice, coffee

Room size good for 2 people in the 3 person room. Nice very clean room and facility. Wifi worked well. Woman staff person very nice. Difficult to find with gps. Finally found it after circling several times. 5 minutes away from the Acqueduct. Parking is a problem. Parking lot is very small and difficult to manueuver in. We parked 10 minutes away in a free street spot. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The day we checked out we left our luggage in a locked room till we left the city about 4 pm. Room was 2 flights up without an elevator.

Aside from the fact that there is no lift, which is an inconvenience for a senior, this hotel was most acceptable. The rooms are small but scrupulously clean, the wi fi works. and it is very close to the aquaduct which is the beginning of the old city. It's quite possible to walk right across to the other side of the old city and see everything . The hotel has a beautiful set of engravings or drawings on the walls of the hallways, which depict the old buildings.

Very nice, clean hotel. The decor is about 30 years old, but is very clean. They also have access to a parking garage so that you can park your car if you are driving as we were.

I would say it is less than 3-5 minutes to the aqueduct and very close to this drag of small shops and places to eat. I would recommend this Kebab place (first eatery on this main drag that is perpendicular to the aqueduct) as it was a good value, food was good (pizza and a kebab) and you are able to enjoy the aqueduct wth the birds that seem to circle in and around the aqueduct.

As others have said, the hostal is well located for the sights. It was clean and comfortable. There is a little church nearby and storks were nesting on the roof, which was lovely to see We were in the annexe to the hostal which was near this church. The annexe arrangement was ok but you had to make sure the door to the street was shut, so I guess security could a bit of an issue, but there were no problems while we were there. Overall it was good value for money.

Ensuite doubles with continental breakfast at a budget price only two blocks from the aqueduct and plaza del azuguejo. A second hostal named Donjaime II is right across the street using g the same reception. Bed and pillows comfy. WiFi too.

This hostal is well located, close to places of interest, but on a quiet street. The room was quite spacious and clean, the staff was mostly nice.
The only thing I didn't like - thin walls. There was more noise from inside the hostal itself, than from the street. Otherwise - just great.
