“Great location and great service”
Reviewed 6 January 2014

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. the hotel is located in a great position right off the main street and very close to the main plaza and Segovia Cathedral . In addition both the Aqueduct and Alcazar are in a walking distance. The room itself wasn't fancy but was comfortable and clean.
The stuff and service were really great. we found parking right across the hotel and they offered to put money in the meter for us so we don't have to come back every 30 minutes.

If you want to be in the old town, this is a fantastic choice. The location is perfect for exploring this charming city on foot and the staff is always eager to help. Rooms are comfortable and very reasonably priced. Overall, a great choice.

Very helpful staff. The hotel is placed perfect in the city for access to the historic parts and the bars and restaurants etc. However parking is an issue. Free at weekends on the streets and from 9.30 Monday morning 1.20 euros an hour at a time so you have to keep returning to your car. Or a public car park some distance away through narrow cobbled streets which really weren't made for cars.
If however you are up for this it IS most certainly worth it.

Spent 2 night in room 203 and we left delighted. Condes de Castilla is in the middle of the old town of Segovia, just at the San Martin church and cosy square. It's in an old building converted into hotel (with small elevator) and restaurant.

Room is perfect. Modern, large enough to easily accomodate 2 persons, design is smart and pleasant with some paintings on the walls. There's a wardrobe, desk, big mirror, small refrigerator and TV. And the morning view to the church tower when you open the window - unforgettable.

Bathroom was also great - not very large but smartly designed, clean and nice. very good shower, big mirror accompanied by a small one, haidryer. Minor issue - shower door could not be fully closed but no leaking water there.

Service was great - always smiling and ready to help. They called the lost baggage office at Barajas airport to check the status of my missing suitcase.

We paid 61 eur per night (promotion on website) what exceeds our usual budget but decided to go for that based on reviews on Trip Advisor. And it was worth every penny. Simply one of the best places I've stayed during my travels.

Room Tip: Room 203 is great, looking out to the square and church tower.

A wonderful hotel. The traditional Spanish style was charming and there was a very decent restaurant at a very good price. Unfortunately my wife was ill for most of the holiday. The hotel staff could not have been kinder or more efficient. Arrangements were made for us to visit a medical centre and the hospital and when we returned from hospital at 3.30am the hotel receptionist was waiting for us with the door open. Special meals were provided for my wife and the staff did everything they could to help. This would have been a lovely hotel under normal circumstances. We still managed to have a good holiday and this was largely due to the kindness of all the hotel staff.

Room Tip: Go for a superior double.

The hotel is conveniently located within an easy walk to major historic sites. We were touring on a motorbike and could park right outside hotel which was convenient. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the room was very comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel as extremely good value for money.

The Hotel Condes de Castilla, former Hostal El Hidalgo, has a nice location right in the heart of the the old city, near from everything you need: cafes, restaurants, the segovian icons, shopping, supermarket for basic needs...
The ancient hotel building, once property of a rich and important segovian family, is very well and tastfully renovated, a very charming and elegant lodging. Our room, the 102, was on 1st floor with a window and a just-one-person-fitting balcony fronting the pedestrian street. The room has good sound isolation and an efficient AC, even with the 36ºC in segovia at the time, thanks to the fact that the AC still works when you're not in the room, providing a cool room when you arrive.
The decoration was nice, spacious enough, comfy bed, LCD TV with lots of international and local channels, minifridge, radio and free wifi (ask for password at reception). The bathroom is very well renovated with lots of space and fine extras but... the shower area in open space with the toilette is very uncomfortable when you bath, because there's nothing to stop the water from reaching the toilette area and the floor becomes all wet, even the toilette. If you go to the toilette after someone takes a bath you will probably get your shoes or slippers wet and then you will leave your footprints all over bathroom and room. There's no way to have a nice and long bath without being worried of the water reaching the toilette and wet the floor all around.
The Reception Staff was ok. We didn't have breakfast or any meal at the hotel, since the area is full of nice Cafes and restaurants, more typical and cheaper.
After all, I liked the room but disliked the shower open space area (easily solved with a glass door).

Room Tip: Higher floors and far from lift may be quieter rooms.
