With cloisters that languish in sun and shadow, this immense medieval cathedral provides photographers expert and not with amazing details to record. Do allow plenty of time to gaze not just at altars but at the choir, the doors and their handles. Worth the 3 euro entrance fee.

My husband and I agreed it is one of the most beautiful cathedrals we have seen. There are no photos allowed in the cathedral and sadly there are no postcards to be found in Segovia of the inside.

The best cathedral I can remember visiting. Fantastic. €3 to get in, but the best value if our trip so far.

From the outside Segovia Cathedral is lovely beyond words. It is ornate and its sandstone composition glows in the warm light of the region. One can see it from miles away, as Segovia retains much of its historical character, with little new development in the way of its rich history. Entering the cathedral was a shock, however, for this is the first time I've been forced to listen to muzak. I've grown reluctantly used to piped church music of various sorts, in spite of a deep belief that churches should be places for quiet reflection and prayer. The strings, guitar, and so on of my soundtrack for the visit was extremely upsetting and detracted from the splendid vaulting and so on.

If one get past this crassness, one will enjoy a diverse and interesting interior, which is no match for Toldedo Cathedral, for instance, but quite enough for a joyous 45 minutes of so.

This cathedral does not differ strongly from any other medieval chrch I have seen, but it is still nice and impressive when you catch a first glimpse of its enormous figure on the hill. The entrance fee is applied.
