Hotel Palacio San Facundo is inside the historical district which is a big plus if you're exploring Segovia on foot and want to have a home base nearby. It sits in front of very small square so you're not stepping out into a cobblestone road with buses whizzing by - and believe me, even in the historic district, cars and buses wheeze by at frightening speeds on the extremely narrow roads in the old town. Turn left at the front door and you're headed towards the Toledo Cathedral - turn right and you're headed to the world-famous Toledo aqueduct.

Still, it's a modest affair, with a very small lobby with a reception desk in the centre, and a small glass walled lift at the back. It's a converted historical building and the rooms either face the smallish courtyard or the small windows - and I emphasise "small" - open to the building across the street. And keep in mind, the streets are narrow so we're talking about being 10 feet from the building across. So it's really like opening your window to a wall.

The rooms are also small but serviceable. Ditto for the work table, bed night tables, and the wardrobe cabinet. Be warned - there are no english channels on the small LCD TV. But there are at least enough outlets to charge several devices at the same time. Wi-fi is free. Note that there is no mini-bar though.

The toilet, like the bedroom is small. There's no blower ventilation so the smells stay for a long time, unfortunately.

The ac seems to be a bit of hit and miss - it shuts off when the temperature gets too cold but doesn't turn on again until you're uncomfortably warm. some of the key cards were also hit and miss.

The front desk person did everything - checked us in, helped with our luggage, opened our room, helped us with the ice, even checked up when we complained of the air conditioning. What a trouper!

Breakfast was in the lobby-courtyard. There's a coffee machine, an orange juice dispenser, breads, toaster, hard boiled eggs, and some ham-salami-cheese slices. But no veggies which is always a disappointment. We saw only one waitress in the coffee shop.

Hotel Palacio San Facundo is located just a few minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor and the many attractions in Segovia's old town. Yet, it is a quiet place to stay, set on it's own little plaza. Our room was just the right size with a comfortable bathroom and spacious closet. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations and directions to sights. Parking is on site, but since I didn't want to drive the narrow streets, I left the car in a garage near the aqueduct. There are also facilities for business and social meetings. For the price, this hotel is an excellent value! The breakfast buffet is another convenience.

My wife & I spent a cold January night here in January 2014 and highly recommend Hotel Palacios San Facundo. Our room was beautiful as was the entire hotel. The staff was very pleasant & accommodating. The room was dead quiet, so we slept fantastically. I would have liked a couple more pillows but otherwise no other issues.

If palaces were ordered from a catalogue this would be the starter size.Small enough to be intimate without overcrowding. Good size rooms, comfortable beds and excellent free and speedy WiFi. The lift will teach you Spanish whilst bringing you up and down the three floors in this establishment. Breakfast is in the centre court and is adequate with good freshly ground coffee and a selection of hot and cold buffet. There was no minibar but free bottled water was provided in the room. A short walk from the front door leads you up to the Catherderal or down to the aquiduct. Many lively restaurants nearby. Most establishments provide a hefty FREE tapas with every drink so the late eating hour 9.30pm becomes less of a problem There is an underground carpark but we did not try it.

Great location, stupendous service, quiet environment,
convenient garage (a luxury in any historic structure)and a dedicated front desk staff willing to assist in every way, including providing detailed information about Beautiful Segovia's attractions,
culinary experiences and visits to nearby cities and villages. We stayed for a week. We were treated like family.
