“Hotel boutique with grate location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2012

Although this hotel appears as a luxury hotel, there are lot of things that do not allow saying that. My room was a suit, with a sofa in front of the tv, but strangely there was a complete kitchen behind the sofa. There was a big fridge, a dishwasher, and everything as if you stay in an apartment hotel. I can not imagine a guest cocking in a room in Valladolid. An apartment hotel has sense in the seaside, or in a business city, and Valladolid, obviously is not it. The amenities in the bathroom were poor, and you have to take the shampoo and the gel from a unique rechargeable device in the wall of the shower. There was just a shower towel, so if you want to have a shower at night and when you get up, you have to use the same wet towel. The best is the location, close to the cathedral, and that is a quite hotel. The worst was the breakfast buffet. Just a couple of dishes with three industrial cakes and other two with three pieces of cold meet, a coffee machine and a jar of orange juice. That was all.

I was really impressed by this hotel. We only stayed one night and both my husband and I had expected a fairly bland hotel but we were very pleasantly surprised. It is a new hotel having opened in early 2012 and you can tell by the state of the rooms. It was very clean and we were surprised to have a kitchenette and living area as well as a big double bed. There was even space for two cots to accommodate our toddler twins. The bathroom was also spacious with a great shower.

I was particularly impressed by the staff - both members of staff we met were helpful and charming. They made the hotel feel less like a purely business hotel - which it could have done otherwise.

We had a delicious wine from the wine bar in the hotel - which was quiet and unassuming (the wine bar, not the wine). In fact the whole hotel was very quiet - we slept with our windows open and didn't hear any noise from all the people sat outside the bar across the street.

An added bonus for us was the parking under the hotel - you have to pay for it but as we were on a road trip across Spain with two small children we needed an easy parking solution.

You will not believe this place when you stay here. It is brand new and so beautifully decorated and hi-tech. The atrium that runs the height of the building is breathtaking. Our room had a kitchen, wood floors and beautiful rugs, and huge shower. The bed and bath linens are premium quality, and the hi-def TV was the highest definition I have ever seen. The lighting is great and there is a built-in stereo system, balcony, great couch and coffee table, breakfast nook table with two chairs, and fridge.

The evening clerk was so nice, and the breakfast had the freshest croissants, ham, chorizo, cheese, cereal, coffee, and yogurt. All of this, and it is not expensive. It was built by a person who owns a winery. You'll love the car elevator that takes you down to the basement parking. Right across the street from a great, old church and food joints. Super quiet rooms. You'll love it.
