Being a regular user of the Marriot brand we decided to stop over at this hotel on our way to the South of Spain. The building is beautiful with quiet surroundings. The food and service was excellent, far better than we had 2 nights before at a category 5 Marriot in the UK. We only managed one night but the next time we will try to have a few nights in this excellent hotel.

We make a point of researching AC hotels when travelling in Spain. This was another hotel worth the research. Beautiful building, with atrium covered courtyard. Large bedrooms and bathrooms, many with great views over the garden and river.

The free mini bar from 2012 has unfortunately been stopped, and now the standard expensive small bottled items are for sale in the fridge as found in many other hotels.

Plenty of free secure on site parking.

Friendly and helpful (English speaking)staff.

Beautifully presented continental breakfast, with cooked items cooked to order, and tables in the covered courtyard.

Swimming pool small (and full of kids on our visit) and sauna not working on our visit either.

Hypermarket a couple of minutes drive, and only a short distance to city centre...45 minute walk following river if you prefer.

Worth making a trip to stay if in the the area, and would stay again if nearby.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 14 on ground floor, just a short distance from lift and reception, with view over...

A quite different experience to live. A very nice decoration in all areas, new fashion style but preserving the environment of a traditional palace. Spaceful room and bathroom.

Not expensive for the place it is and with nice quality of the sleep. It also has a nice food to try. The kitchen is open until late.

The parking is free and you don't need to book it in advance, there is enough place to leave the car.

The 3 bad things are:
1. The location, outside everything.
2. The lack of a gym.
3. Not free wifi.

I should have listened to ianstusmith.Birmingham, United Kingdom review dated 7/10/12. Sorry Ian. Our stay was a big disappointment. I shall avoid "business" hotels in future. I suppose I fell for the lure of the five stars and a good deal but these large " institutions" seem to lack warmth and the personal touch This might be a reps paradise but this kind of set up is not really for the leisurely traveller. The reception staff were polite and professional but there was no concierge to greet you at the door and help you with your bags, something one expects from a five star hotel. Moreover service extras such as twelve euros for wifi in the room and a costly mini bar are very annoying. I thought that Marriot were against such added costs.

Very enjoyable one night stay enroute to Bilbao from the Algarve. Easy to find with a safe and secure underground car park.

Public areas are very impressive with a large central atrium which serves as a lounge and bar.

Great restaurant for dinner and suberb buffet breakfast.

Highly recommended.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. It is a great place to stay in Spain if you have business in Valladolid and the prices were very reasonable for our stay. The hotel looks like an old Spanish palace. The room was beautiful and came with a free mini bar, like most of the AC business hotels. The breakfast was also quite good with a nice assortment of pasteries and a selection of hot prepared to order meals. We would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers.

We arrived on a Sat on Oct after booking a junior suite but were given a larger than average room with one easy chair and a desk chair. We went down for dinner and a wedding party was in-progress so the noise in the atruim dinning room made it impossible to talk and the service was extremety slow. On returning tothe room we were woken at 2am with noisy guests shouting in the corridor.
Clearly this hotel needs to learn how to handle large events that benefit ALL guests.
However I must say that once we did receive the food it was very good.
