This beautiful little cafe is hidden off the side of the Ramblas, its like being in a forest. We only stayed for drinks and for the atmosphere but it was so pleasant and relaxing. Next door theres a very intruiging shop with all sorts of little bits and bobs to look at.

I visited El Bosc de las Fades (The Fairies' Forest) on a recent visit on the recommendation of a friend who grew up in Barcelona. It was one of my favorite places we visited. Located in an alley next to the wax museum, it's tucked out of the way and quite unassuming (for the surprise on the interior!). You'll know it by the metal fairy holding a torch just above the door.

Inside is incredible. Once you enter the draped doors, it's like you've actually been transported into a fairy's woodland home (except one room, which is done up like a child's bedroom and has a magic mirror). We didn't stay long -- just to enjoy a glass of cava and the surroundings. The next time I visit Barcelona, I plan to spend much more time here!

I first went here when I was on holiday at the recommendation of a friend, and I was blown away. It set on the land of the wax museum, so naturally there are waxworks everywhere, mainly in the entrance. Go through there, and you enter a mystical world of elves, wolves and hobbits within a bar!
I now live in Barcelona, and I have been back so many times, and I still can't get over how much I love it. The atmosphere is so friendly, and it's a great place to people watch. It is fairly touristy, but it is one of Barcelona's most famous bars. It is also fairly busy, so you'll be lucky to find a table, or even more so, a chair!
As far as drinks go, they're cheaper than some other places I've been, with a jug of sangria, which served 3 of us, costing 12E, and a beer costing around 4E.
With it's prime location of Las Ramblas, it is also within walking distance of many other of Barcelona's clubs and bars.
A must see!!

This is a fairy land style bar located just of las ramblas by the wax museum. Think rain forest cafe. Kinda fun environment. A good stop for a drink after the walk down the street. The AC felt great :)
