I loved Hotel Curious. The rooms are small but very clean and stylish. The best part of the hotel is the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - I loved their recommendations for dining and entertainment. The location was very convenient to Las Ramblas.

We recently spent three nights in Hotel Curious and were really happy with the experience! The rooms are a little small but they are efficient. It is a great location to Las Ramblas and easy to get around the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful with issues or questions that we had. The breakfast was fresh and tasty and it was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. We would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Curious and should we go back to Barcelona, we would definitely stay there.

Room Tip: Even if you are a couple request a twin - the room is a bit bigger and you can always push the beds...

This was a small hotel but very close to las ramblas. Our room was small but very clean. It open up onto an enclosed alley. The first night we were awaken, 1AM, by a crying, howling and whiny dog that was locked in the alley. We called and talked to the night staff but they did not know what to do, so it went on for a couple of hours before the dog was removed. Stay away from rooms 106 & 105.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms that backup onto the enclosed alley.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your choosing Hotel Curious for your recent stay in Barcelona!

You mention that the first night you were awaken by a crying dog from our neighbor. We are very sorry for that inconvenience. As you may know, we tried to solve the problem from the front desk (phone call, visiting him to his house...), but we could not reach to a solution in that moment. We would like to inform you that we have recently reported this person to the police: we made a joint complaint with the rest of the neighborhood, and the police is about to act. If you ever come back to Hotel Curious you will see that this situation will not happen again.

Despite of this little incident of the first night, we are very happy that you had a great stay at Hotel Curious! That's the most important for us.

Thank you very much for trusting Hotel Curious and we hope to see you soon again!

Our best regards,

Artur Artigas

We chanced upon the hotel as Barcelona hotels were pretty well booked due to our trip inadvertently coinciding with the Sonar Music Festival but the location was convenient and the rooms looked clean and modern. Upon arrival we were delighted with our rooms - a twin and a triple. The twin was interesting due to the frosted glass pane between bedroom and bathroom (luckily we knew each other well!) in room 101 and the triple was also a good room, both had balconies overlooking the street. The only downside to some of the group was that a few beds were quite hard for their preference, but that's about the only negative. Location wise, the hotel is just off the Rambla in the city centre and is a short walk away from most things. The breakfast was a help-yourself affair with fruit, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, pastries and some great strong coffee. The staff were also good, helping us with discount tickets for the tourist bus and allowing us to leave our suitcases in their care at the end of our stay for most of the day due to our flight being a late one. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.

Dear Guest,

We really loved your comment! That weekend Barcelona was a crazy city: so crowded that you could not even walk! But it is great and fantastic to have Sonar an Primavera Sound festivals in the city.
Ours is a small & cute boutique hotel located at the city center, with only 24 rooms. It is perfect for city breaks, as you said. Glad you liked our breakfast! We believe it is very complete to start the day full of energy!
Thank you very much and we very look forward to seeing you soon again a Hotel Curious!

Hotel was easy to find from Placa de Catalunya. Just walk along the middle pedestrian lane at Las Ramblas and look out for the street name on a church to your right. The friendly receptionist, who checked us in, gave us some useful tips for our 4-days stay in Barcelona - a bonus considering the aqua-themed room we were assigned to was small albeit being clean and chic. Breakfast was decent and consistent throughout our stay. We were informed that this is a 1-star hotel (though I don't remember paying 1-star price), so I guess that's the reason why some amenities were lacking (no bathroom slipper, shower cap, safe, fridge, etc). Nevertheless we were out most of the time, so this hotel was perfect for housing our luggage and resting (on hard beds) at nights. My only other peeve is that the TV in our room was not showing the Euro matches. That was not a big problem since there are always tapas bars televising the live matches nearby. Merkat La Boqueria was a street away so do visit that when you stay here.

Room Tip: The balcony in our aqua-themed room was almost irrelevant. You are facing the residence opposite, al...

Dear Guest,

We are very thankful for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor about our place. Our guests' opinions are the most important for us, as they all make us improve our daily work.
As you already mentioned, Hotel Curious is a one star rated hotel, as we are very small (24 rooms) and we do not have many services as gym or swimmingpool. We offer room and breakfast in a great location. We are perfect for short city breaks, and our prices are even better if you book in advanced.

Refarding the points you mentioned above, we would like to kindly explain you that our TVs have a sports channel, a few news channels and some spanish channels too. Our guests can watch special Matches (Champions, spanisgh or english leagues) in El Milagrito (Carme Street 19). You will have a discount if your show the Curious Card! Regarding our beds, they are brand new: we chose all of them to be consistent, as soft matresses are quite uncomfortable and quite dangerous for the back. They should be some kind of hard.

Thank you very much and we look forward to welcoming you soon again!

Best regards,

Artur Artigas

Good location although the actual street itself may appear a bit desolate. It is directly off Las Ramblas and situated about a 5 minute walk from Catalunya Square or a 10 minute walk to the water (wonderful Mediterranean beach).

The staff are excellent and provide an introduction to Barcelona with maps and suggestions

Our room is a bit tight and fairly basic however for the price, location, free breakfast and free wifi, it's a great deal!

I highly recommend this hotel if your looking for value and a great location along with a very helpful staff.
