“Oasis in Barcelona”

I real gem in a busy city, the Abac really delivers on its promise of a boutique hotel. Set outside the city centre the staff recommended the metro for getting around, with a very nearby station it proved a great way of getting around. The room was very spacious and luxurious with an amazing bathroom. The hotel feels very intimate and quiet with the restaurant something really special and well worth a visit.

The title of our review is a saying that means that someone put in the appearance of doing something, but with no real care or effort - this was our experience at ABaC. Here is the list of things that were sub-standard for a luxury hotel:
In our room, the front door lock, curtains and tv were all malfunctioning - none of which were fixed during our three day stay (in fact staff simply said "we know" as if nothing could be done).
In our room the shower walls and ceiling had mould growing on them as did the hand basin; the backing was peeling off the curtains, some of which were partially hanging off the rails.
The door to our corridor was chocked open as the locking mechanism was broken (and had been for some time).
The "concierge" had no tourist information, recommendations for restaurants outside the hotel and could not supply a map of Barcelona.
When asked if we could get more milk for the coffee machine (two small pods were supplied) - we were told "no" as it is "complementary". We purchased our own at a local store at 12 for 60 cents.
On the last day there was mould on my brioche at breakfast.

We cannot recommend this hotel and would not stay again.

We stayed in ABaC restaurant & Hotel for 3 nights. Our stay at this hotel was excellent from the time of check-in; when Roberto welcomed us and explained all about the hotel and about some of the tourist attractions in the city, right up to the time we left the hotel. We would recommend the full breakfast which was excellent and the lady that served was very helpful, unfortunately the restaurant was closed while were staying. Although on the outskirts of the city the hotel was adjacent to the metro which took you into the city centre in a matter of minutes, beside a tour-bus stopping point and beside the "Blue Tram" stop which took you to the funicular railway We would definitely come back and we would make sure it was at a time the restaurant was open. thank-you to all at ABaC

Room Tip: We had a room with a terrace - this was very good.

Very modern and comfortable place to stay, a block away from the train station to La Rambla. In a busy area, but the rooms are quiet. Shower was amazing. My wife and her parents enjoyed massages in the spa. There is no lap pool, just a wading pool in the spa. The main focus of the hotel is the restaurant which has two Michelin stars and is fantastic. Hotel, facility, and restaurant staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Dear Hotel Manager,

Hope you are doing well.

We have just checked in to our room and looking forward to experience ABaC services for our last destination for this summer trip.

We are in wedding & event planning industry for the pass ten years in Asia and would like to share a little feedback about our experience with your team.

Upon our arrival at hotel, we are trying to intercom with your team about that we got 6pcs luggage. One of your team member come and help out but i do not think that she are able to handle it as all luggages are heavy. We are offering whether there is a trolley or male colleague could help. At the end, both us need to handle another 2 luggage and some paper bags. One of the luggage fall down and knock on my feet, im standing there and non of your team members offer any help to ease the situation. Im really disappointed with this.

When we checking in at the reception desk, receptionist would like to get our passport and we have mentioned that could we do it later after i have unpack my luggage. The receptionist insist us to present the passport. One of your team member saw the situation and offer us to do it after we check into our room.

The receptionist didn't get my name correct on the check in form. Its appear Steven and there is not even my email address. I have received several email from your hotel and keep remind me that we are one of your important guests. Your team will give us all help whenever we ask, but it seem like i didn't experienced any VIP treatment since my check in.

When im at your front desk and ask for whether hotel provide any complimentary bottle water and the respond that i got is a word" NO " . We have work with luxurious hotel around the world and always understand that hotel policy may vary. But customer services should be equal to your hotel standard when handling customer inquiries.

One last thing, we didn't receive any welcome gift in our room. Through our event experiences for the pass few years, customer commitment should be the core value in every hotel.

Hope our feedback will bring up a discussions in your team and looking forward to the rest of our staty.

.My partner and I arrived at the ABaC hotel looking forward to a fantastic holiday in this wonderful hotel. We weren't disappointed. It is truly amazing. Staff who are attentive without being pretentious. Our check in was a relaxing and very welcoming experience..Thankyou Christina for making us feel so special.. our room was beautiful with the most amazing Tv I have ever seen. We were greeted each morning by the lady serving breakfast (Pilar) I think was her name. Sooo friendly .We had the pleasure of eating in the restaurant on Tuesday evening. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. The most spectacular food I have ever tasted. Thank you to (Mar) who waited on us the entire evening. The only down side and its a very small down side was the fact that I had booked us in for 4days with a continental breakfast. This meant for 4 mornings we had fruit,orange juice and a selection of breads. If we wanted cooked food it meant we paid another 31 euro each every day. A liitle steep. The hotel is very convenient to the tourist bus stop and also the tram which takes you up to the most amazing views over Barcelona. All in all we had the most relaxing break we could have wished for and hope to return, Thankyou team ABac.

My daughter and I only spent one night (sadly) at this marvelous gem of a hotel in Barcelona.
It is located in a lovely neighborhood; we were so pleased the moment our taxi pulled up and we discovered this perfect spot. As we had just flown in and it was a bit late, we immediately got seated in their smaller dining room and had a very special dinner. Most original food presentation and very tasty. Then we were escorted to our room, which was beautifully designed, immaculate, and very fashionable. I would love to design my own bathroom at home like this. Latest (it seemed to me) European modern elegant design, materials, great shower, beautiful sink, tub, etc. Just a lovely place. We also had a nice breakfast in a pretty enclosed garden in the morning. Want to go back!!
