“A landmark with superb views from the top - rooms more stylish than comfortable”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

A nice landmark hotel in El Raval neighborhood.
The building itself is quite impressive. Some people probably hate it because it really sticks out in the area.

The rooms are more stylish than comfortable - which seems to be a trend nowadays.

Had a "deluxe matrimonial" room from the 10th floor (the highest one) all by myself on a business trip. Even that room was a bit to the small side. The whole building is round so the rooms have curving outside walls / windows.

The fantastic view (the wall is all window) was partly - and a bit annoyingly - blocked by a metal mesh thingy that covers the whole hotel, probably for safety reasons.

Breakfast was really good, as was the service, and the 360 degrees rooftop bar has probably best views in downtown Barcelona. Sadly the rooftop bar closes (or at least did during my 4 night visit) surprisingly early.

Room Tip: I'd advice to ask as high floor as possible.

hey all back again with Barcelona . i was back to Barcelona after cruising for 7 days with royal Caribbean . here the hotel is mind blowing . with all the artistic structure from room to lobbies to restaurant and stair case . the rooms are all same but go for corner rooms as they are better. this hotel is basically for couples as no inclosers ,n best for honey moon couples. but i must say u should try this hotel if u re really romantic . tc . the hotel is close to everything ,

We did not stay at this hotel but we were advised to check out the roof for the amazing view of Barcelona town , We were not disappointed as yes it's in the centre of town and the view all around is amazing , To top it off there is a nice little chill out bar with relaxing music and chairs, tables, soft seating and viewing area's all around to relax away from the hustle in the street , Thanks hope you enjoy

I travelled with my boyfriend and stayed at the Barcelo Raval for one week.

Location:
The hotel is in a great location. Very close to Las Ramblas and walking distance to the many of major sites. The hotel is located on street with a pedestrian walkway down the middle of the street with several restaurant patios to eat or have a drink or just lounge. I loved the neighbourhood: Relaxed but vibrant at the same time. I think we tried almost all the restaurants on the street they are all good. Additionally on the surrounding streets their is shopping, mini supermarkets where you can buy water, juice, fruits etc.

The hotel is tallest building in the neighbourhood and rooftop views are breath taking. The pool IS VERY SMALL. But the beach is just couple of subway stops away. I would hang out at the beach if you want sun bathing time.

Service/Food:
Service at the hotel was good. We did not have many requests. I asked to have my online tickets printed and they printed it not problem. We did not eat at the hotel as we preferred to try the local restaurants however food looked good and the hotel does have a patio.

Room:
Room was modern and chic as per pictures. We had a room on the 9th floor so our view was beautiful. Unfortunately the windows have metal mesh around the entire hotel (I suspect so birds don't fly into the building). You can still see the view but would be amazing without it. Room has blackout curtains for those who like to sleep in. The rain shower was amazing. I loved it!
The bathroom is open so I would only recommend this type of room for singles or couples. Would be a bit too intimate for anyone else or families. The toilet does have a door! The room has an Ipod dock so bring you Ipod with you! Bed was comfortable, large and had lots of pillows. There is ample room to pack out your clothes but not much room to store suitcases so pack light. The room has complimentary toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, body lotion, body wash, razor set, shampoo, tissue etc which came in handy as we ran out. They were replaced everyday and the room was cleaned well. Room does not have wash cloths so bring your own or wash sponge. Room has a Nesprsso machine but you have to have your own water. We never used it. There was a mini bar with drinks and snacks but very expensive. Better to go to the stores close by for snacks. They all open late.
If you are travelling from North America bring a dual voltage electronics (flat iron, chargers, etc) and bring multiple adaptors as we only had one and had to alternate charging our phones, tablet and plugging in my flat iron.

Wifi in the room was great and consistent! If you ate at the one of restaurant right outside the hotel, you could still get a signal!

overall great experience, loved the hotel, loved the location!

Room Tip: Top floors have the view!

We arrived the hotel and we're surprised by a round and funky building. The hotel is unusual and nice, modern decorations, rooms with nice amenities and a small pool and sun area on the roof. The locations is excellent and withing walking distance of many attractions.

Stayed here for three nights in June. Hotel was fantastic and had everything we needed. The rooftop terrace was just fabulous, we watched the sunset over the city with a glass of cava, the atmosphere was so chilled and the barmen friendly and welcoming. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and couldn't fault the food or service at all. The location is very good too, and I felt safe walking to and from the hotel at all times of the day and night. When we return to Barcelona, I know what hotel I'm staying at!

The hotel was in a great location as it was just less than a 5 minute walk to Las Ramblas. At night the walk back to the hotel was not the most pleasant, quite a few prostitutes and my partner was nearly pick pocketed. The 360 bar was lovely but very pricey for what it was. The rooms were kept clean every day, but they were very small and compact.
