Recently stayed in the hotel for three nights. It is basically a cylinder, covered in chain mail, which looks very futuristic in contrast to it's immediate surroundings. Hotel is very dark inside (a design thing) but very modern and quirky. Fluorescent pink and lime green are the accent colours to white and black. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The taxi rank is directly outside the door, which is very convenient.

The rooms are nice but also the same colourway....black wallpaper and curtains, with a white bed that had pink lights....and a lime green ceiling! The shower cubicle is in the bedroom and the only modesty aspect is frosted glass. This is definitely a hotel for couples or people who know each other well! The toilet is separated by a vanity door. The effect overall is very podlike and modern. The bed was comfortable and there was a choice of pillows.

My personal recommendations for staying here would be not as a solo traveller. The area outside the hotel was not the best and a bit seedy in places. I personally did not feel comfortable, even with my husband there but I am quite a nervous (if well travelled) person. We were propositioned a couple of times and though our polite knock-backs were laughed off, it still wasn't nice. However, a short walk through this and you are in the heart of La Rambla. The 360 view from the bar on the eleventh floor was amazing and worth a visit and a drink.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. There are some nice bars and restaurants nearby and this area is obviously trying to regenerate. With regards to rooms, ask for floor six or higher, so that you get the benefit of the views, otherwise you might end up with a view of an office block. Also, if the weather is very warm, try to get a room on the La Rambla side. We were on the opposite side and with the mix of the outer chain mail and the sun, our room was roasting hot. The air-con didn't really kick-in to ease this and keeping the curtains closed didn't help much.

All in all a very convenient, clean, modern and friendly hotel.

I'm sure this is the nicest hotel in what is a slightly shady area. Don't bother with the breakfast it's pretty poor rather try Caravelle which is less than 5 min walk. The rooms are really well laid out with funky decor, comfy bed and a great shower!
2 things which bugged me were when returning to the room there was always a slight odor of cigarette smoke which I reckon came through the aircon even though it's a non smoking hotel. Also, the cleaning staff would knock on the door sometimes as early as 9:30 and if you are trying to have a lie in its impossible as when they lean the adjoining rooms you can hear them sliding the furniture over the tiled floor.

We stayd for 6 nights with my girlfriend and enjoyed our stay at Barcelo Raval. The view from our 10th floor window was stunning, as was the view from the roof-top terrace. The location of the hotel was good (somewhat near to downtown and beach), however the Raval district is maybe not the best part of Barcelona. The bed was one of the best hotel beds I have slept.

The breakfast was ok, but the sfaf didn't bother to clean up the tables during breakfast time, so at around 10 it was not possible to find a clean table. The pool was really small and not that usefull.

I stayed here for 4 nights with my parents and little brother. Arriving at the hotel we were very impressed with the service and how modern the hotel was. They arranged for us to be on the 9th floor where there were stunning views over the city. The rooms were very spacious and again very modern, however more suited for couples as there was very little privacy in the rooms (open shower, clear all round and a toilet that doesn't lock). Impressed with the amount of TV English channels and at first the automatic curtains, until they broke 3 times in 4 days... They sell themselves on their 360 degree view bar and swimming pool which is, yes very impressive however it is very small. There was no where to lay out to sunbathe and you could barely fit 6 people in the pool. Add to that alot of young people as the bar is open to the public, doesn't give you that family holiday vibe. It is located less than 5 minutes from Las ramblas and the centre of Barcelona which is ideal. However, it is true about the prostitutes being on every corner on the way to the centre. Although we never whitnessed any drugs, there ALWAYS police cars or officers around, which frequently had lights on and even whitnessed them drive onto the roundabout in chase! Overall, the hotel is good and is a good distance away from tourist Barcelona, however getting there is unnerving and you feel you always have to be alert. Not relaxing.

We are 80 year olds and enjoyed a 5 night stay at Barceló Raval Barcelona.
Could not fault the hotel. Excellent location close to La Rambla and tourist buses. Did not dine at hotel but many eating places close by.
The staff were very good friendly and efficient. Rooms were modern design and very comfortable with tea/ coffee and security safe.
Would visit again.
