“Perfect Accommodation!”
Reviewed 25 May 2013

We were apprehensive reading the mixed reviews but had no choice as we were late in booking. However the MH apartments was available and we were pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the accommodation.

1. It's about 7 to 8 mins of walking distance from the Sagrada Familia Metro station. Passing by the masterpiece day and night was a treat!

2. The apartment is quite spacious and very clean. The bathroom is good sized with good drainage and everything works properly. There is a TV, music player, etc. The kitchen is fitted with all possible amenities. The super sized fridge came in very handy to store cheese from 'Monsterrat'!

3. There are 4 beds in 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the drawing room too. We were 3 of us so we didn't require it.

4. Loads of places to eat around the place and on the way to the station. Few good bakeries. The turkish Doner Kebab at the corner was especially delicious. Shopping - I bought a very pretty chiffon scarf and a short denim jacket from a store nearby called MERCECASTAE COMPLEMENTS at the most reasonable rates. My husband bought a smart jacket too from another store though.

5. The locker provided worked fine, the AC runs just fine and makes the entire apartment very comfortable in no time. All in all a comfortable stay in a good location.

Drawbacks:
1. The views are nothing to speak about. The small balcony overlooks an enclosed space of other residences. My daughter's bedroom window looked directly into another apartment, so the curtain had to be kept drawn.
2. The British girl who showed us the room arrived about 20 minutes late, despite calling well in time, while we waited with all our baggage.
3. There are no basic toiletries provided.

We called in advance to inform the management company we would enter Barcelona around 1 pm. We were asked to call again when we entered the City so that they could meet us at the apartment upon arrival. When we called them at 12:45 pm we were told that they would meet us at 14:15 as check in was at 14:00 hours. The apartment was rather small, and the furniture was nothing less than drab. Brown Formica furniture, brown couch, brown curtains. Very uninspiring. The very pleasant British lady who showed us around gave us the login details for the WiFi which turned out not to be in working order. After several phone calls to the management company it was established that the internet connection in the building did not reach our floor and therefore they were sorry, but we would not have accessibility as it could only be fixed after our departure. Well, our kids went to one of the floors where presumably the internet was working and even there they could not get access to the net. The apartment does not boast any amenities. No coffee sachets, no guest soap, no shampoo. Very basic and bare. The bathroom was very tiny. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. Fortunately the location of the apartment made up for all the discomfort we encountered at the apartment itself. Basically next to the Sagrada Familia, walking distance to Plasa Catalunya. Great!!

Perfect base for four, family with two grown up children. All the equipment needed for a comfortable stay and self cater. Five minute walk from the Segrada Familia Basilica and Metro. Good local shops and supermarkets to provide food that is vegan and gluten free. Flat at back of building overlooking little patio gardens and accessible by lift - 5th floor. After making phone call at airport we arrived at apartment just a few minutes before person to check us in. Wifi. Flat cleaned mid week.

Room Tip: Flat 42 at back of building.

We stayed here for 5 days with a family of 4. Perfect modern and clean apartment with all the conveniences you might need, even a washer/dryer. We stayed at No. 12 (1st floor, there is an elevator) which is at the back of the building so you don't have the possible noise of the street. It's only 200 meters away from the Metro station Sagrada Familia.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the building are quieter.

We loved the location but we were a short walk from Sagrada Familia. We loved being in an apartment and not a hotel room since we were travelling with 2 kids. The apartments were much more cost effective. Supermarket was just around the corner. Other cafes were just steps from the front door. There was a LOT of noise form the street and also from the apartment upstairs. We called the manager in the middle of the night twice to take care of the noise avove us and it finally stopped. My only complaint was HARD furniture. But we do understand this is common for Europe. Definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Do not stay along the road.
