This nicely decorated 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment was very well located on Carrer Sardenya--just a block beyond La Sagrada Familia. We were a party of 3 adults, 1 married couple with our adult daughter--so it was a nice size for us. It was easy to access the metro, buses and taxi to get everywhere around Barcelona.
The gentleman who met us (sorry, I didn't get his name) was very friendly, met us on time, showed us around the apartment and gave info on how to buy bus/metro tickets and get to our first event--very nice!
It has authentic, charming high ceilings like you see in the picture and the balcony from the dining/living area overlooks noisy (but interesting) Carrer Sardenya. The bedrooms, however, are very quiet as they overlook an inner courtyard.
The kitchen is well-stocked with plates, glasses, silverware, pots and pans-- even though we didn't use much. A nice touch might be to stock some basics like olive oil, salt & pepper, (like we have experienced in other cities' apartments) so it might have been a bit easier to cook something for ourselves. A supermarket called "Candis" is just a block away-so it is really easy to get things!
When we arrived, both bathrooms had maybe a days' worth of toilet paper so we had to go get some more (I guess I would have expected that to be stocked-- it is stocked now, since we bought a pack of 12 rolls--most economical).
As mentioned in other reviews, this apartment is not on the first or second floors--but actually on the third floor--so lugging suitcases may be a bit of a struggle for some. Ours were not too big, and we are quite active so we made it just fine.
There is free wi-fi access which worked well for all of our devices.
Since this was the last leg of our 10 day trip, we were really looking forward to washing a few clothes--there is a washing machine-- but there was no clothes washing detergent to be found! So, we made due without washing.
Overall, it was a comfortable, well-located, charming apartment!
We had a good time here with our two children 7 and 11 years old. The accommodation offers everything you need to live. From here the beach can be explored as well as the centre of Barcelona. Nearby there is a supermarket, restaurants, bakers, butchers... There is also a subway station not far from the apartment, so you can get to know Barcelona in a wide range of ways without having to run into sore bubbles on your feet. The landlords are very nice and the contact uncomplicated. We would very much like to come back.
Just returned from a short break in Barcelona at this apartment, and happy to say its everything as described. Everything you could hope for is in the apartment - it really is fully equipped. The location is great. Right next to Sagredo Familar church, and metro stops if you want to travel round, or you can walk. The Place de Catalunya is about 15mins walk way. There are lots of places to eat in the immediate area, and despite being so central, the bedrooms are very quiet at night - no road noise which is a god send. Maria, our host, met us at the apartment despite our flight being delayed, and was available to answer any of our questions via whatsapp, which was very convenient. Would happily recommend this apartment to anyone.
This is an excellent apartment for a couple or small family. It’s fully equipped with all the important creature comforts...and the two bathrooms were a real plus. It is centrally located; many sites are within walking distance while most others are accessible via the nearby Metro station. We had unusually warm weather in October and were please to find that the A/C worked perfectly. We also appreciated the willingness of our hosts to accommodate our request for an early “check-in” upon arrival.
This appartment was a stones throw from The Sagrada Familia...it was close to all areas of Barcelona. ..as 2 couples we took a taxi, the cost ranged from 7 to 10 euros. The appartment had everthing we needed. Note you need to ring the bell downstairs 1-2. even though it is up a couple of flights of stairs...it is classed as the first floor. There was a cost of 30 euros for arriving at 10pm. The area around has everything you need. ..supermarkets. ..restaurants. .cafés and shops. The little balcony overlooks the street and is great for observing the street and going ons. Suggestions - as 2 couples a second set of keys would have made life easier as it was a bit difficult co ordinating set meeting times...also the bunk beds in the small second bedroom could be a challenge for older couples like us ..maybe a picture of the second bedroom on tripadvisor could help people make an informed decision. Thanks for the opportunity to explore your fantastic city....we loved it ...cheers.
Very comfortable apartment, 1 1/2 blocks from La Sagrada Familia, yet very quiet. Well furnished. Two good bathrooms. Main bedroom has double bed and ac. Second bedroom has bunk beds and fan. But worked great for 2 couples, as long as one person willing to take upper bunk. Apartment was very clean. Access was great and departure was easy. Highly recommended.
Missing - not up to expectations
- Lack of hot water - not nice
- Most of the light bulbs do not work
- Bad cloack smell in one bathroom
