Description: A lovely restaurant, set in what seems to be a converted space with rich furnishings and artwork hung and set against exposed steel beams and brick walls. The ambience is quietly relaxed, with upholstered banquettes and white table linens. Named for its chef and owner, Tribeca serves Catalan cuisine influenced most of all by the market. Dishes include starter of artichokes with bocadito of Iberian ham, yellow egg and truffle dressing, main course of pork cheeks with bacon and potato gratin, and sweet of chocolate mousse. A children's menu, fine wines and thoughtful service make this a favourite.

Nice place to have dinner. Although it may seems a bit pricey, it is compensated with the quality of the food. Especially cod, that is very good.
The only bad thing is the slow service, we spent too much time waiting for the deserts although the redtaurant was empty.

Reading the positive reactions here we booked a table for dinner. We were a group of 5 and we were placed in a separate room. Bad service and took a long time before everybody received her or his meal so that ruined the pleasure of eating there.
So at the end huge disappointment. There are much better places in Barca for the same price

A trip advisor sign was in the window, but it must have been left over from the last restaurant that was in this location. First, they had no sangria. OK. Not a deal breaker. Next, they were out of the duck dish. My companion then chose the hamburger which came as requested - rare. It was substantial in size, good and filling. My lamb meatballs were tasty but the bread served was rock hard and our waitress never came to check on us or I would have asked her to bring me another roll in the hopes it would be fresher. She was busy doing other tasks. The chocolate ravioli dessert was another item not available. Yes, we charged a seating fee which is apparently a tax on tourists because there was exactly one other patron in the whole restaurant seated at the bar. Dinner hour and the restaurant was empty...... (Turns out a restaurant bill can vary based on where you sit also.... inside is one fee, outside can be another... BTW, some restaurants will only serve tapas at a bar and full meals at tables.) Went back to the apt and read all the bad reviews on Trip Advisor. Lesson learned.

Very disapointing after the mixed responses here. We came with a group of 5 of wich 3 took starters and 2 just Main course.
The 2 Main came with the 3 starters and it felt As if they wanted us to leave fast cause the 3 other main courses came when the starters wernt finished. Hake fillet... Well forget it... No taste... Black veggies... And the whole mean in less than one hour..... In short.. Forget this restaurant.

Have passed this place a few times and was intrigued by the menu, so today wanting something a bit more upscale for lunch, decided to give it a go. Then, came home and decided to see what TripAdvisors thought of it. Some very mixed reviews and now I see why.

Greeting was brusque and I was shown to a table half-way to the kitchen instead of one of those still available in the brightly lit front room. (Ok, I was on my own and in jeans but they are very nice jeans). Not really minding the quieter spot though, I sat, and for the next 40 minutes, through the three courses of the menu of the day, things were fine. Not good, not great. Just OK. Service a bit slow and quite perfunctory. Only person to crack a smile the whole time was the female assistant server. I was fed but other than that ignored. Food was .... fine.

A nice green salad that for some reason was described as being "like a Greek salad"-- never did figure out why. Because it had cheese in it? Chicken breast rolled around spinach and pan-roasted in beer, served with a few slices of grilled zuchini and two smallish grilled tomatos. Again, competently prepared and presentation was ... fine. Tried a few spoonfuls or the arroz con leche (rice pud) for dessert and it was ... fine. Do the owner/manager and staff know it was fine? Nope, no one ever bothered to ask.

Then waited for cheque. Waited again for change. Finally went and got it myself and went out the door. To not a word from anyone.

Really, should I complain when it was a decent meal for only about 15 euro? Yes, because I can have lunch with food as good and much more professional and friendly service at a thousand restaurants in BCN for the same price or less. Why go back?
