Description: Divinus Roselló occupies a privileged location in the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, between Paseo de Gracia and the Rambla de Cataluña. The restaurant is spread over two floors and is decorated in a modern, young and informal style. It aims to revive traditional, homemade food such as fried eggs with potatoes and Ibérico ham or slow-cooked meatballs with cuttlefish, although there are plenty of other options to suit all tastes, including pizzas, pastas and different grilled meats.

Normally I am good at avoiding tourist traps, this time however was the exception. Divinus is a typical corporate restaurant establishment that entices the customer in but does not deliver. The food was at best OK. I had an aubergine coolie for starters, and pasta for main course. The former was overseasoned and the latter was overcooked oily, and tasteless and I didn't feel too well afterwards. Worst of all was the service, they try to charge double to price for bread, don't pay it.

There are a million better places to eat in Barcelona, don't give them your money!

All round good food, recommend the executive menu with spaghetti as entry dish and brownie as dessert. Delicious! Will be back for sure.

As we were waiting for the food we ordered two small plates of tomato bread, one of which, according to the menu, was included in a €1.75 service charge.
When the bill arrived the two tomato breads were marked as four portions at €7 in total...how does that make sense?

The waiter that gave us the bill couldn't speak English, so the head waiter came over and arrogantly explained that the charge was 1.75 per portion and that each plate was two portions...so we had in fact ordered FOUR portions at 1.75 each. Confusing isnt it?

We argued with him, explaining that just because one plate can be shared, does not make it two separate portions. There were just a few small pieces on each plate. I told him it was ridiculous that they would try to rip people off this way, then he actually started stamping his feet saying that its the same in every country, I'm not joking, he was like a child. He went on to make fun of us for arguing over a 'couple of euro'. I told him it was absolutely unacceptable to not only overcharge, but to treat customers in such a hostile and arrogant manner. So he stormed off saying 'im not dealing with this, the bill is right!', and came back a few mintues later, grabbed the bill, scribbled out €7 and wrote €3.50.

I guess he caved, but beware.

We stayed at the Majestic Hotel just up the road and ate here most of the time. This is a first class tapas and staff were helpfull in helping us select what to eat.
You can relax outside people watching or go inside and soak up the atmosphere.
Call into this tapas you will not be disappointed.
