“Excellent location, great hotel.”

Yes it was expensive. It is what it is, but you can't beat the location. Check-in and out was easy. The staff were so nice and they remember you. The complimentary welcome drink was a nice touch. Our room was very clean. We didn't use the roof-top pool, but it was a nice area, though small. The location was awesome and so central, but I'm biased to staying in the Gothic Quarter. The only reason why I give it 4 vs. 5 stars is because the walls were rather thin. Other than that, I would return to this place the next time that I'm in Barcelona. Our last day, we were so tired and used the front desk to order pizza without issues.

We travelled from Madrid having stayed at 'Catalonia Las Cortes' and loved it there. We were hoping for a similar high service at this hotel. The taxi driver couldn't find the hotel! I think I can understand why. Without having any bearings it seemed us that it was tucked away between series of shops at the back of the cathedral. This proved to be an advantage. We were very near the centre of the city but without the noise and crowds of la Rambla.
The entrance belied the warmth of the hotel. When we arrived the delightful receptionist was dealing with several guests of many nationalities and doing a superb job. We were shown to our room and I have to admit it was a disappointment. It was small and when the curtains were pulled back it was like a goldfish bowl. We returned to reception and asked for an upgrade. (We had to pay.) The young lady whizzed through the computer and found other rooms for us to inspect. Alberti, the porter, could not have been more helpful showing us various rooms and moving our luggage. We chose room 301. What a difference - spacious, comfortable and a view. We were delighted.
Reception could not be faulted. Information about the city, the hotel, transportation was at everyone's fingertips.
The breakfast was an array of food and the coffee was made for you and brought to the table.
I had loved my stay in Madrid and this hotel was an equal delight. The 'Catalonia' chain of hotels is to be highly recommended.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for an upgrade. Room 301 was ideal.

This was a great place to stay. It is in the heart of the old city but not on a busy noisy street. The rooms are modern and fresh and larger than other hotels in Europe. The staff is very nice and speaks English. The breakfast buffet is a little pricey at 19E but it has a lot of variety and servers were the nicest I encountered.

Traveled there last Saturday with my cousin and aunt. We were right on the city center. Perfect location a block away was the stop to all the tourist buses. About 6 blocks from the Cathedral was The dance palace where they have flamenco shows every night.(make reservations a few days ahead). We were so pleased that the hotel was centrally located but also very clean and modern, our rooms faced the inside patio and we didn't hear the street noise at all. The staff was very helpful and friendly specially Maite, Jessica and Alejandro. I'm planning to go back soon.

Room Tip: Try to get the rooms that face the inside patio.

Travelled with a friend to Barcelona in August. We loved Barcelona and this hotel was in the perfect location to explore the city. We stayed in a twin standard room which was clean and had everything we needed. The rooftop pool was amazing with views over the city and towel service to get clean pool towels everyday and a phone to ring for drinks around the pool. Would recommend hotel to couples or a girly break.

Stayed here for 5 days, you can't beat the location. newly renovated rooms and very friendly staff. The bar staff is awesome and after a long day of walking, drinking a G&T on the roof is a great way to start off the night.

A nice renovation on an old building very well located in the gothic neighbourhood. Absolutely inpersonal except for Ruben the luggage helper, The receptio employees were unable to change $100 Euros in smaller change and sent us to an exchange place;.It is a 4 stars hotel more expensive than Casa Fuster which does not compare in the excellence of quality and service.
It was required to take 2 extremely slow elevators( very nice all transparent) in order to get to our room whose beautiful old windows were impossible to open.
The renovation is in general nice within budget limits I assume.
I do not think that I'll be back.
