We chose a 'priveledge' room, with a private terrace, rather than book one of the many hotels with a roof terrace, and were delighted.
The room was modern, with a large, comfortable bed, flat screeen tv, i-pod docking station, nespresso and manageable air-con. The bathroom had a good, powerful shower (over the bath) and included a good selection of toiletries.
Patio doors led onto a tiered terrace, of dark wood and slate, with two loungers, plants and a table and chairs. It was very sunny in the morning but shaded in the late afternoon, though still warm and perfect for a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. There is an attractive bar area on the first floor, staffed in the evening but operated as an honesty bar during the day, where you can get a nicely chilled bottle and an ice bucket to take up to your terrace.
The terrace was ideal for breakfast, fresh fruit from the Sant Josep de la Boqueria market with some natural yogurt (bought the day before) with an espresso (bring your own pods for the nespresso machine or you'll be charged €1.50 each; there is a nespresso shop across the road)
We also had a hotel breakfast, on our last morning at €18.50 each, which was a good quality, served in the bar area.
The location of the hotel was perfect, situated midway between the two Gaudi buildings, Casa Battlo and La Pedrera, making it easy to walk around Barcelona; 20 mins to Sagrada Familia or the Barrio Gotico, 10 mins to Placa Catalunya and the top of La Ramblas. Plenty of good shops and restaurants are nearby and it felt perfectly safe, even at night.

I stayed 4 days in this hotel, very good location, in the heart of Barcelona and close to many attractive buildings and shopping aria.hotel is relatively clean and staffs are nice and polite, but not very professional and helpful.
Sixty two is not like a hotel at all, if you want to stay in this hotel, be ready for extra unreasonable charges such as pay for coffee/tee in room (1.5 Euros ) and for sleeper
(15 Euros).
Single bed in triple room is not comfort, no privacy in bathroom, towels are smelly , very bad view for rooms that located in the back of the hotel.
I think, I could find better.

Dear guest,
Thank you for sharing your Sixtytwo Experience with other travellers. We are pleased to read you appreciated our very central location. We will keep in mind to do more efforts in serving all of you, our guests, a bit better every day.
It is correct we charge for fine tea and Nespresso Coffee as a minibar item in order to give you a quality service.
In reference to your room, you booked a double room triple use and there is obviously a charge for the third person. The Sixtytwo always recommend for 3 adults to buy 2 double rooms (one double use and the other single use) for your comfort. The double triple use is perfect for 2 adults and 1 child.
We understand you would have prefered a view on Paseo de Gracia but all our rooms for 3 people are on the other side facing a spacious, very silent and with lots of day light traditional Eixample patio.
Keep travelling positive,
Best regards,
Àlex Tétard

We stayed a couple of nights here in July 2010 (only just joined TA hence delay in review) and would thoroughly recommend it. We had a room with a balcony at the front of the hotel yet we were not troubled by noise at all. Great location close to bars, shops, restaurants etc. Super base to explore Barcelona. Clean, stylish rooms, and my children loved the "honesty bar". Close to an underground car park if you are touring around as we were. Able to leave the car safely for 3 days and walk everywhere from this lovely hotel. Everything we expected and more.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room at the front to enjoy the "people watching"

My husband and I stayed here on a weekend trip to Barcelona. The location is wonderful, on the busy Passeig de Gracia and a short walk to both Casa Batllo and La Pedrera. There are tons of shops, cafes and restaurants in the vicinity. We took the train from Girona, and the hotel was just a short walk from the Passeig de Gracia station.

We had a large room on the fourth floor with a small balcony that overlooked Passeig de Gracia. We could see Casa Batllo from our balcony! Even though our room faced the street, it was well-soundproofed, and we heard no noise.

The room is very modern, with push buttons for everything. I appreciated the excellent black-out shade, which kept the room dark at night. The bed was huge -- very untypical for many European hotels.

The bathroom also was very big, with a nice sink area, separate shower and bathtub, and a separate toilet area.

Our room rate included the breakfast, which was plentiful, with meats, cheeses, fruit, pastries, toast, yogurt, cava (!), juices and made-to-order eggs and omelettes. I especially liked the Spanish omelette.

The hotel also has free wi-fi and two computers for use near the breakfast room.

The staff was very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Passeig de Gracia for awesome views and a small balcony.

the hotel is in Passeig de Gracia, which is basically in the heart of Barcelona shopping area. Lots of restaurant nearby also.
Staff of the hotel is nice, the decoration is aiming a modern approach, rooms are very large and clean. Regarding design the rooms decoration is simple, although with Bang and Olufsen TV. A good thing is that the toiletry is from ETRO!! Only one remark regardind the air-conditioning in the room: it was to noisy (like traveling in air plane but ear plugs solved it) and it could be more cold as sometimes the room felt very warm.
Also a bit pricy, but overall a good place to stay.
During our stay we took a trip by train to sitges, wich took about 30-45 minutes once the train station was right around the corner.

Amazing location, my boyfriend and I walked everywhere, we never took the metro or the bus. The hotel was very clean. I asked for a room with a balcony at the front of the hotel by email before our trip to Barcelona and Alex at the reception arranged it for me straight away. the staff is kind and very helpful, they recommended us restaurants on more than one occasion and they were all fantastic.
I am not sure what the fuss about the lights are with some of the reviews, when we arrived they explained everything, it's very easy and there s a light setting for every need, bright or deemed, tv mode etc, so easy to use, and in case you don't get it, there s a booklet which explains it in detail.
The street is noisy but with the doors closed you don't hear a thing. We slept so well, the bed was so comfortable and big, we found ourselves missing each other during the night ;-)
The very only thing I didn't like about the hotel is the perfume at the reception. A little too much for me, but that is only a detail. I loved the hotel and recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: we loved our room on the 4th floor, room 405!

The location was excellent. It is located on the Passeig de Gracia, which had some good shopping, places to eat, and was a lively part of town. We booked the hotel on short notice. We had been staying at another hotel, which proved to be unsatisfactory. We checked out of that hotel and checking into SixtyTwo Hotel for our last two days in Barcelona. We would come back to this hotel again. The room was very clean, and had all the amenities. It had a window, but just a wall to view. Front desk staff were very helpful in giving us tips on traveling to Montserrat.
