“Short break in Barcelona”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

We have just returned from a 4 night break in Barcelona staying in Sixtytwo Hotel. We were extremely impressed with the standard of our economy room, the only drawback being the lack of view from the window, but this did not spoil our stay. The room was spacious enough for us with a good size bathroom and shower. It was cleaned every day and had all the amenities we needed. We opted for having breakfast included in our room price and it was well worth it, with a good choice of cold buffet and freshly cooked hot items. We found all the staff friendly and helpful, and Alex, the manager seemed to be on hand on a regular basis if you had any problems, which we did not. The central position of the hotel meant that we were able to explore the city on foot, with a good choice of restaurants nearby for evening meals. Overall, I would happily recommend this hotel and would definitely return to it myself.

Room Tip: If a room with a view is important to you, pay a little extra for this.

Dear Janet,
Thank you so much for sharing your Sixtytwo Experience with other Tripadvisor travellers!
We are so happy to read you did enjoy your stay in Barcelona and in our home.
Be informed for a next time do not hesitate to book an Executive Room instead of a Small Interior, it is just a 10€ difference per night and you will get a window with views and a larger room and bathroom. It is true that our Small Interior is a great equipped room following the same decoration line of the other rooms but with less square meters and with a window but without views.
Waiting for your next visit,
Keep travelling positive,

Lovely hotel, 10min walk to las ramblas. Breakfast wasn't included in our price but there was a cafe just outside the door that was lovely. Rooms were small but had everything you could want, the shower was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Dear Eileen,
Thank you so much for your review :)
It was great pleasure to have you at home during your stay in Barcelona!
Be informed, in November 2013 a new breakfast option (in addition to the complete Sixtytwo Breakfast) will be available at The Sixtytwo without the need of prebooking it: the "Expresss Breakfast" for 5€ only that includes a coffee/tea + orange juice + a croissant.
Wish you the best in your future journeys,
Best regards,

We stayed for 4 days at the Sixtytwo Hotel in Barcelona.
The hotel is very modern and the rooms are spacious with all the amenities needed. It's location is marvelous as it is located on Passeo De Garcia which is one of the nicest streets in Barcelona and very central. Breakfast is also very nice, with hot cooking included in the price. In the vicinity of the hotel are numerous tapas bars and very good restaurants. A highly recommended hotel for a stay in Barcelona.

I was extremely disappointed with SixtyTwo hotel. Travelers should be wary of this hotel. I was supposed to stay there two days from now, but received a last minute e-mail from them stating that they had given my reservation away because (I suspect) of the high demand of conference guests. I had booked my stay at SixtyTwo hotel weeks in advance and the credit transaction had been subsequently approved. Therefore, it seems obvious that they decided to give away my reservation so that they could reap the benefits of charging last minute conference guests a full fee.

Although I’m sure the conditions at the hotel are nice, as so many other people here have claimed, I will not be able to see them due to the irresponsible actions of employees who contacted me last minute about my reservation’s precarious position only to tell me it had been reinstated. I only learned that they had actually given away the reservation when I took the precaution of giving them a follow up phone call. Realistically, I could have shown up at the hotel two days from now, only to learn that my room had been given away without my knowledge or consent.

I warn anyone staying here to double check in advance that their room has not been haphazardly given away!

Dear Mrs. W.

I have been personally pleased to get in touch with you before your arrival in order to explain what happened with your reservation.

Following the hotel policy, a valid credit card number is requested in order to confirm a reservation.

A week before your arrival we noticed your credit card was not valid (we tried to pre authorize the first night) and sent you an email requesting your new credit card details in the following 48 hours. It is true we cancelled your reservation after 48h because we had no news, but as soon as you called we reinstated it.

I phoned you in order to confirm that the problem was solved and that we were going to be more than glad to welcome you.
However, 24h before your arrival you informed me you preferred to stay in another hotel.

We understood that your final decision was not to come to the Hotel Sixtytwo, otherwise we would have not sold your room.

Receive our best regards from Barcelona,

Àlex Tetard

My husband and I stayed her for 4 nights in May 2013 and could not be happier with our choice. we got a great rate on easytobook.com. We did not buy the breakfast as it seemed very pricey, and there are so many available options right outside your door. We had a window that opened up onto Passieg De Gracia with a view of a Gaudy building. Would 150% stay here again.

Cute small and lovely property, if you like shopping this place is for you..the whole street is safe even at night, metro station is few steps away. Hotel staff are young people who are always willing to help and offer things to do. Breakfast is average, I expected more choices. If you were lucky enough you'd get the executive room that has a balcony over passiege de Garcia street..the view is lovely.

Room Tip: Executive room would be the ideal choice

Dear "Catalony",
Thank you so much for your visit and for sharing your Sixtytwo Experience with other Tripadvisor users.
The whole team has been so pleased to read your kind words in reference to the service :)
About breakfast, be informed we will keep improving it with new products and presentation.
Also the "Expresss Breakfast" will start being served in November 2013, a new breakfast proposal in paralel to the one we already have that combines buffet and "a la carte" dishes.
Keep travelling positive!

We stayed at the Sixtytwo hotel for one week recently and we felt it was a really good price for a great location. Situated between the Majestic and Mandarin Oriental hotels along the main shopping strip, it was half the price. The hotel is small and quaint and the rooms are simple and clean. The rooms are of a decent size and it has most of the amenities that a holiday traveller would need. Only wished they would provide more free bottled water but can't complain given the price. They also provide free Wi-Fi but the connection was not the strongest most of the time. The hotel has a restaurant/lounge on the first floor but no other facilities.

For holiday goers and people who like shopping, the location is fantastic. Located mid way along the Passeig de Gracia, all the shopping you could need is within walking distance. Cafes and restaurants dotted along the streets and getting around from the hotel by taxi is convenient as there is always a row of cabs waiting outside the hotel.

Overall a decent hotel with a great price in a fantastic location.

Dear Lucell,
Thank you so much for your visit and for such a nice review!
We love to read you really did appreciate our location: it is true we are just surrounded by restaurants, bars and the best shops of the city.
In reference to the hotels you are mentioning, be informed they are 5* hotels and The Sixtytwo is a 4* Boutique Hotel, which maybe will explain the difference in rate and facilities :)
From Summer 2013 we are able to offer swimming pool (oudoor and indoor) and gym facilities to our guests at less than 200m from the hotel. Thanks to an agreement with the Seven DIR you can enjoy all its facilities for only 20€ /day per person (price 2013).
Keep travelling positive,
