We are a family of four with two grade-school kids and we stayed here for four nights in June 2014. Overall, we would rate this as an excellent place to stay. Our stay was quiet and pleasant, no issue with noise. The manager at the reception spoke great English, and was very helpful. He helped us unpack and settle in to the apartment, as well as giving us an orientation for getting to various sites around Barcelona. He also gave us directions to good local markets and the subway, and arranged a taxi for us on our day of departure. (Make sure to request this the night ahead of time.)
We reserved a three bedroom apartment with a terrace (so our kids would have separate bedrooms) and that worked out well for us. Note that the apartments that have terraces are on the ground floor and I think there are only three of them. The rest of the apartments are on the higher floors.
The kitchens are well equipped. There were a limited number dishes and utensils, so we needed to stay on top of cleaning dishes if we ate more than one meal per day in the apartment (they will clean up once per day for you). The kitchen also had a N'espresso machine. Two pods were provided each day, and we were able to get more at a nearby grocery store (make sure to get the right type, as there are several different kinds).
The washing machine was also in the kitchen. Note that it was not the same kind as the machine we have at home, so it was very helpful to get the instructions from the manager on how best to use it. Like most places in southern Europe there is not a clothes dryer -- laundry is customarily dried on a line or drying rack; we put the rack on the terrace under the sun.
Our bedrooms were up a flight of stairs, with the master bedroom having a full window view of the terrace, and the other two bedrooms having smaller windows to into a courtyard. The showers have partial glass doors and a shower wand, so be careful with the shower sprayer to avoid flooding the bathroom floor, especially with young kids.
Right next door to the apartments is a small cafe where you can eat meals, or get staples like milk etc. I think it is run by the same company as the apartments. There is a corner store a block away, and a larger supermarket several blocks west on Casp. The subway stations are fairly close by -- depending on which one you go to it is a couple to half dozen blocks away. And it is about 6 blocks to Placa de Catalunya, which is the north end of the Rambla.
