“Not cheap but worth it”
Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

Wandered into this little place without reservation at about 22:30 and it was almost full with what seemed like the local cognoscenti, so we were a little apprehensive. Our fears were ungrounded as the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was not your run of the mill tapas as offered by the thousands of bars all over the city, and the price reflected the step up in quality but fairly so. I'd like to recommend one of the dishes we had, but since I haven't tried enough of them (yet) it wouldn't be helpful, but if all the dishes are of a comparable qua_lity and freshness (and I have no reason to believe otherwise) then I guarantee you will be amazed. The wine list is extensive and as expensive as you choose it to be, but wine is not a hobby of mine, so I won't attempt a critique here. Suffice to say a bottle of red starts just shy of ?20. There is no "house" option. Overall, price-wise, expect to pay upwards of ?30 a head but make no mistake, the food is well worth the tag. Highly recommended.

Thank Ted H

“Well worth finding!!”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Situated at almost the very end/start(?) of Rambla Poblenou is Els Tres Porquets. You may think you have missed it as there doesn't seem to be a large sign outside it. And it seems to be in the middle of apartment blocks but persevere as you will be delighted to came.
We are in the area and found this restaurant on tripadvisor so thought we'd visit. Hadn't made a reservation but the waiter allowed us a table provided we were finished by 10pm which we were very happy to do. In the next 40 minutes the place was packed and buzzing.
The menu is written on a large blackboard. Basically you choose several dishes to share - a little larger than tapas. Our waiter who spoke perfect English went through the menu and advised us after we told him some of our favourite food. Then he pointed out the restaurants specialities so we picked 2 of them.
We had croquettes deep fried with chorizo and cheese, then a small breaded white fish also I think deep fried. Then we had a crab ravioli with a prawn bisque. Finally we had the specialities (and was I so glad we did) pieces of fillet of beef in a small casserole with vegetable and cheese and a wonderful marinade. And lastly a duck egg with foie gras - delicious. We also sampled 2 desserts. There is a huge wine list. Our bill which included a beautiful red wine at €36 was €111 which was well worth it.
We have been in Barcelona for almost a week and certainly have eaten very well, going through tripadvisor for advise but as I hadn't seen some up to date reviews about this restaurant I suppose I was a little dubious. However I really can't rave enough about this place. We liked it so much that we are going back for our last night out in Barcelona!
It's really well worth coming here but make a reservation.

“So pleased we found it!”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

We were staying at the nearby Novatel, so were very pleased to come across The 3 Little Pigs. It's a very busy place, full of locals, which is always a good sign. We were made very welcome, after a very short wait for a table. (We hadn't booked). Tables and seats made out of wine barrels!
We were helped to choose 4 courses, the first was melt in the mouth Iberico ham, which was expertly sliced in front of us, we then had succulent prawns cooked to perfection. Then my favourite course, freshly made pasta/tagliatelle with shaved black truffle, wow! I've never tasted truffle before and gorgeous! Staff were very friendly and we would definitely return to this little gem of a place.

“Exquisite range of dishes to share”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

For a different take on tapas Els Tres Porquets is fabulous place to savour an evening in an atmosphere more like a wine bar, although they have dining rooms to book too. The range, flavours and quality of the dishes on offer is just outstanding - all backed up by an excellent wine list too. About 12 mins walk from Glories metro in a quiet spot at the head of a street.

This little restaurant off the beaten path as everything to make you do the detour. Some of the finest inspired tapas and quality at it's best.
The white truffle Risotto is just bites of heaven.
