Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about food. And lots of it! On this 2-3 hour food tour we stop in 3-4 small food establishments in either the famous Gothic or the lovely Gracia neighborhoods of Barcelona. Our venues range from high-quality specialty shops to home-style tapas restaurants, each one with its own scrumptious specialties for you to taste. A knowledgeable and very friendly guide will safely lead you through this labyrinth of a neighborhood, all the while sharing stories about Barcelona life, food, and history. You will enjoy all the cuisine, and, due to the small size of the group, you will also enjoy a more personal, relaxed experience.

Being led to places that served amazing food by guides who were as enthusiastic about the food as they were about making sure we had a great time is my idea of an evening out! There are not enough words to explain how great this tour was!

Barcelona Taste gets 5 stars. We started our evening with our charming and very knowledgeable host, Joe Littenberg, at a cheese and wine shop featuring local tastes. We went from there to three other venues, learning about and eating remarkable regional cuisine.
At the same time, Joe shared his vast knowledge of the history, architecture and people of Barcelona.

We would not have found such wonderful places on our own. This experience set us up to take full advantage of this vibrant and welcoming city.

Book Barcelona Taste early in your stay!

Great guides in Jo and Alfonso who will guide you through the Gothic quarter of Barcelona on a taste sensation. Very informative with the spotlight being on the food of Catalan more than the history which is exactly what we wanted.
Brilliant and immediate follow up e-mail answering any questions we had that were not answered on the night and more great recommendations for places to eat.
We would go again just to hang out with these guys and enjoy more food times with them.

My boyfriend and I were visiting Barcelona for the first time, and were bought this tour as a birthday present. It was just the two of us and our tour guide, Joe. It was very relaxed and friendly, and offered us the chance to go to some places that we would never have found or visited on our own.

We went to four places: a cheese shop, a tapas and vermouth place, a local Catalan restaurant and a wonderful little bar where we had pudding. We loved every single one of them, two of them so much that we revisited them (one of them several times)!

Joe was great fun and told us some bits about the local area/culture/politics in between restaurant stops, and tried to teach us a bit of Catalan along the way!

I think the tour gives people with just a few days in Barca the chance to experience what the locals enjoy, to try out food you may not have come across, and it gives you more of an idea of what's tucked away in Barri Gotic.

Also Joe e-mailed a list of other places to visit and all of them were fantastic... including a night at a rock club!

I'll recommend this to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Joe and Dave were excellent hosts as they introduced 8 hungry tourists from 3 different countries to the delights of the Barcelona gothic quarter and the delicious food there. Our night time food tour was a great introduction to the area and the food, wine, conversation and ambience as we visited the different restaurants could not have been better. The follow up email with suggestions of places to experience was greatly appreciated.
